Double Bass South Pacific

Howdy all.

There's a chance I might get to play South Pacific with a local company. I haven't seen the music yet, and was wondering if anyone could comment on the dificulty of it.

I've only been playing for about two years, so I'm just concerned that it might be above my level. Currently I'm working on a couple of Marcello sonatas, and am through the first Bille' method book-just to give an idea of where I am currently.

It's been awhile, but I don't remember anything earthshakingly difficult in South Pacific. Pretty lighthearted and songlike. It might be a great way to get your feet wet in playing show music if you haven't done much of it.

As Broadway shows go, SP is very easy. You need to play some pizzicato every day to build up some callouses so you don't bleed the first time you play it through.
