Sovtek 2x15 bass cabinet ...any help?

Called New Sensor corp today. BTW, very nice guy and great help researching this cab.
He said it appears by an old catalog to of been made in 1996 in the USA. He said there were not many made like this since more people like separate 15" cabs. He said its 4 ohm cab, 300 watts with two 150 watt CGA speakers built by Eminence. He said replacement speakers today would be their Delta 15-8 speaker.

He said they are very well built cabs and last a lifetime if taken care of. Good to get some light on it. Thanks for getting me the link guys.

Glad it worked out for you. Half of searching for things is figuring out what search terms to use.

You ARE the internet, man! When the next guy does his search on one of these cabs in a year or in 10 years, your thread will be one of the few out there, and with great details. Add those pics! You owe it to the internet! ;)

Btw - if you are ever curious about the age of speakers, pull them out of the cab (if front loaded) and look for the manufacturer markings. One set of numbers should be a date code. Using that code, you can then find out when the speaker was made. (and the backs of speakers often have the wattage and ohm load rating, though not always)

Cool! I would of still been searching if not for the guys here getting me to New Sensor. Great people over there the guy was very helpful even went out of his way to look it up. I might pick it up this week and will get pics up then. I have a hold on the head and planned on waiting till midmonth to pick them up at the same time.
I figured somebody would know something on them and its great to be able to give people info like you said down the line.

You are the only source of info I’ve found online, aside from contacting new sensor Corp....so the prediction above is correct, ha!
I’m picking one of these up in a few weeks and looking for more info on it. Have you found any other info on them or swapped out speakers in the last 5yrs?

I only held on to that cab for a short time. I was in a band then that needed it’s power. It was well built and a monster volume and tone wise. I’m sure you will enjoy it but it’s a bugger to load and get around.

Just picked it up yesterday. Actually not too bad as far as weight and loading is concerned, I’ve been accustomed to ampeg 810s over the years though. It sounds great...for 300w and 215s it’s surprising loud and clean sounding, great tone. Apparently has only had a few owners over the years, so it’s in great shape...She’s definitely a keeper!
