This Space-X launch from Vandenberg was kinda surreal. Launched in a fog, first stage returned to launch site and landed in fog.

Thanks for posting these! I have watched several, and they usually follow a similar script: watch the camera on the side of the booster until the stages separate, then watch the engine cameras on stage 2 for the next couple of hours, with occasional PIP back to the booster camera or drone ship camera.

This one was extraordinary in that they tracked the booster from the ground from the time of launch (well, minus a short bit of cloud) to the time of landing. Seeing the exhaust plumes of the booster and stage 2 colliding in space, plus the re-entry burn fully enveloping the booster in a huge fireball, isn't something I had seen before.

The exhaust plumes clashing when the booster turns around can only clearly be seen during twilight, either morning or evening, just before the sun rises or shortly after setting. If you get time, youtube 'space-x' and 'twilight effect'. Just spectacular to me. I've only seen it live once, from 140 miles away. Even from this distance, it was much more than I hoped. Could see the attitude thrusters on the first stage randomly firing and the 2 fairing halves dropping away until they dropped into the earth's shadow again.

In other news, the Mars helo flew it's 26th flight. Flew over it's parachute, film of flight will be coming.
