SpaceX and other space stuff

A black hole's gravity is so strong that even light cannot escape it. So technically it's not a photo of a black hole, but a photo of where the black hole is.

Semantics, I know, but we gotta be straight on these things. :D

Reminder from my previous post (see below) that there will be a total lunar eclipse on the evening of Sunday the 15th.

Total lunar eclipse on the night of May 15th.

It will be best seen in the Americas but will be partly visible in Europe and Africa.


Optimum viewing is in the American Central Time Zone. Approximate times are as follows:

9:30 pm - eclipse begins
10:30 pm - totality begins
11:15 pm - mid eclipse
Midnight - totality ends
1:00 am - eclipse ends

Times vary farther east or west.

Typical lunar eclipse:

No equipment is needed to see the eclipse. Just go outside and look.

But it does look spectacular through binoculars or a small telescope.
 
Regarding the supermassive black hole Sagitarius A*, here's a cool presentation graphic of its location. Graphic starts about the 25 second mark.

Good to know if any of y'all want to visit it. Providing we develop either Warp Speed, Hyperspace Jump, Mass Relay, Warp Jump, Transwarp, Slipspace, or Foldspace (thanks, Guild Navigators) capabilities in our lifetime. So, you know, bookmark this page or somethin'... :)
