Eclipse happening right now. Looks spectacular

Yeah, it was looking real good here from my locale in Florida, too. The sky was clear, despite cloud warnings through the day.

Started about 11:30 p.m. local time. Watched it until it all became a deep orange/red color.

Then toddled off to bed for my beauty rest.

Clouds here. Fortunately, I've seen several lunar eclipses over the years, so to borrow a phrase, "no huhu."

Looked unreal. Like someone was flying a giant balloon.

I'll be writing Mr. Elon "It's my spaceship...I'll launch when I want to" Musk a nastygram. I woke up to watch a Spacex launch scheduled before sunrise. Wanted to see the cool-as-frak jellyfish effect of the exhaust gases. But, NOOOoooo...it was delayed about 30 minutes until AFTER sunrise. Didn't see squat.

For those passing thru that may not know, the "Solar Eclipse from Space..." pic above isn't a real pic. It's a digital rendering posted in Deviant Art back in 2009. Cool looking pic, though. Great for a desktop wallpaper.

They got through launch smoothly, currently verifying 2nd stage orbit for booster separation from Starliner.

I was genuinely surprised to see a shot of this thing flying at the end of a news segment as I was surfing channels a few minutes ago. After all this time, I wasn't really expecting it to actually go up.

As of a few minutes ago all is still going wee with the Atlas V/Starliner. Here's video of the launch:

Remember, the Starliner was launched by the Atlas V, a well proven rocket. Not the SLS. We'll know more in a month or three.
