As Brother Dave Gardner once said: "With our luck, it'll be a half-moon, and we'll miss it." 
A foreign nation, whose name I won't mention, announced that they were going to out-do this Moon launch, and send a mission to:
THE SUN!
Scientists reacted: "Are you crazy!?? The temperature of the Sun is 10,000 degrees F. You'll burn to a CRISP!
HA! They replied; We're going to go at NIGHT.

I have to say, I'm pretty excited about the new moon missions. I detest Elon Musk, but with or without him I'm so hopeful these missions succeed.
I hope NASA succeeds too. Musk is a strange one but there's no denying what he's accomplished. And I don't think he's done yet. Paypal, Tesla, The Boring Company and, of course, SpaceX is one hell of a track record. But he's a strange one... probably an extraterrestrial just trying to get home.

Was lurking in the NASA forum again. Regarding the aborted NASA SLS flight yesterday...
There was a briefing today and it's believed that a faulty temp sensor is to blame for the off-temp reading of engine 3. The data indicated the sensor didn't behave according to the physics of the situation (clever folk). Also, the sensors on this test rocket are development/testing grade sensors, not flight grade sensors. Right now, it isn't feasible to change out the sensor, so they're working on a flight rationale.
Schedule was changed to Saturday, the 3rd. If no-go Saturday, then Monday the 5th.
All subject to change LOL.

Last week I was on a camping trip where the night sky was very clear. I happened to look up and see 53 satellites traveling in a row! I’ve never seen anything like it. Apparently there was a launch last week. Stayed up and watched them the next night too.
NASA's SLS launch attempt starting at 2:17pm EDT on Saturday, 03 Sept. 2 hour launch window. 60% chance of good weather.

I turned on the NASA TV channel to join in on the SLS operations, and it was already scrubbed LOL. Well, finding problems is part of testing. Disappointing, but such is life.
Yup, scrubadubdub. Oh well, feces occurs. At least the moonikins are safe and ready to go after the fix.
