Rocket Lab's return-to-flight mission for its Electron booster launches this week | Space says they are California based. News to me. They are a NZ company doing launch work for NASA and US companies so I guess they base sales in California.

Probably just the ashes of people who have paid to have their remains buried on the moon.
I would imagine that NASA may well be taking on the research, and experiment equipment necessary to explore the viability of turning the ice water into fuel, that will make space travel vastly more economical.
But it will take a commercial partner to actually make that a reality. So they may be deploying experiments of their own, or they may simply be having to go through the motions to stake a legitimate mining claim.
There's also been plans involving graphine robots, that when fully realised will be able to be deployed, and then autonomously mine material from the moons surface, and use it to pre-fabricate components, and structures that can then be quickly assembled into shelters / buildings when humans arrive.
That's obviously a way off, but the experimentation is well underway.
Yeah, Spacex is particularly busy - tomorrow both the SAOCOM 1B F9 mission from the cape and a Starship SN6 150m hop at Boca Chica, then Starlink 11 on Sunday!

Rats, Spacex SAOCOM launch delayed to Sunday, unclear what that means for the Starlink launch. (ULA delayed too, fwiw.) Starship SN6 150m hop still on for today.
I'm having a hard time keeping up with the schedules.

It's utterly bonkers, that today you can open YouTube on your TV, and watch a live feed from a robot on Mars - replete with Muzak.
Yeah! I can't wait to see the helicopter shots from Mars next year.
I imagine this is going to reveal my stooopidity, but, are we going to get any video from the helicopter shots, or will it be stills only?

Thanks for mentioning that - I was not aware. Now completely entranced. I think I want to build my bio-dome back of that ridge over there to the left! lol
