Speaker alignment delay

Curious: you have a 10K mixer but you are looking for a budget alignment solution?

Yeah that one confuses me just as much as you. No idea why the church went and bought this particular board. Knowing how small our budget is for audio equipment most of the time and how little money we have in our building fund it doesn't make much sense to me, but hey, it's not my money.

When it comes to stuff like a time alignment delay, the church doesn't really see a need for it. To them it'd be considered more of a luxury item. So I'm looking for the cheapest one I can find to improve the chances of actually getting it. And of course, if it's cheap enough I can just pay for it out of pocket if they're not interested.
 
Found a blurb on the dbx website which (IME) describes how to best adjust the time delay to match the venue. I would think this is more easily accomplished via a delay unit with a rolly-scrolly knob as opposed to DIP switches.

1) Locate a spot in the venue which is representative of "best seat in the house". This will be tough and subject to trial & error as there are umpteen time / delay zones as mentioned.

2) The human ear will have difficulty discerning when time alignment is achieved but, OTOH, is more aware of when things "go missing". Invert your signal to the remote mains...or proximal mains. It doesn't matter which as long as we're creating some degree of phase cancellation betweenst the two banks.

3) Determine which bank of mains has the greater presence in your listening location and apply the time delay function to that bank....let's assume its the remote bank for this scenario.

4) Run a steady tone (keyboard, pink noise, tone generator, etc) through both banks and slowly add / increase delay. Given the two banks are out-of-phase, once your reach optimal time alignment, you should hear a profound null or void as maximal cancellation(s) occur. Note your final settings (feet or milliseconds) for reference. This may take 2 or 3 attempts.

5) Reverse your inverted signal and you should be good to go.
