Speaker Recommendations/Traynor Mods?

IMO, this may be an exercise in spending a bunch of money on a driver for mediocre results.

I think you would be better off selling what you have and find a good used cabinet that you can listen to before buying. I think you will be ahead in the long run and end up with a better end result.

As luck would have it, I heard back from the folks at Yorkville who recommended “part number 7336 (DESC:15" 8R 225WPGM SPEAKER).”

Unfortunately for me, Google isn’t being helpful right now.

I’m out of town, I’ll still follow up with measurements once I’m home in case this thread is of use to anyone in the future.

Agreed about a potential money pit - I’m not trying to turn it into something else, but I’d prefer to keep it if I can get a little more out of it. If not, I’ll sell it rather than butcher it.

Some folks seem to have been down this road up in Canada and recommended a Celestion Sodewinder amongst some other Eminence offerings I need to review.

A bit confusing in the listing, as the top and images have the correct information but further down the page it says the listing is for a 10 inch 4 Ohm. :cautious:
It is from Yorkville's shop. Ask before purchase to make sure.

Google is having server issues.

The YBA-4 is a good amp, similar to the Fender tweed (5F6A) bassman and the Marshall JTM-45. If you can, before changing the speaker, run the amp into a bass cab. The original Marshland speakers of the 60’s and 70’s were not the best and the speaker was often changed out.
