IMO, a Jensen NEO15-150 would also be probably sound good in your cab, and they come in 4,8 and 16 ohms:

Didn't know about those. They sound fairly bright? Over100db of 3-4khz following a little mid dip. They don't look too choppy or peaky though. Might be nice highs?

Spendy compared to some of the eminence offerings that will work. Is there a ceramic version that would retain some of the overall tone, even if it is lower in SPL.?

they just appear that they'd sound nice to me. with a decent xmax of 4mm and with a dip in the 400-800hz range compared to the eminence offerings, i think that they'd actually sound pretty 'vintage'.

i don't think their ceramics sound like them though, since the mod15-200 ceramic has quite a dip at 400hz and an xmax of only 2mm.

Nice rig!

I had a Kustom rig at one time. Mine had JBL D140's in it. Sounded pretty good. Just not loud enough for some gigs. IME, Not enough amp and cab was inefficient.

Based on johnk_10's DIY cab build thread, putting in a more powerful speaker than the cab requires and plugging the ports can be win-win. Check out the posts near the end of the thread.

IMO, kinda puts to bed the "replace your speakers with new originals-the manufacturer knows best" mantra that I've heard repeatedly over the past few years, especially for vintage/low power amps(>300 watts). Sure, if you're replacing only one speaker, I can see that.

When replacing all speakers, it seems that getting the best you can afford will allow your amp to max out the cab potential which would probably be much higher performing than with the original, lower rated speakers, specifically with vintage/low power amps (<300 watts) due to the non-optimal cab parameters.

Along with plugging the ports or modifying the ports, good cab lining, as johnk_10 discovered, his TLAR (that looks about right) cab works perfectly for him.

The 16ohm Delta's would likely work fine for you unless you plan on someday using this with a larger, more powerful bass amp/slave amp. If that's the case, I'd hold out for the Legends, although, to make full use of them with a big amp, you should add more port area and recalculate for the proper tuning, for example, four 4" ports instead of 2. You could hide the extra ports behind the grillcloth and just keep the 2 chrome rings on the front for looks.
