I really appreciate all the info everyone put in here! it helped me a lot when continuing the search. I found that while the accountant is indeed its own beautiful beast. Orange Squeezer variants were exactly what i was looking for. so i went down that rabbit hole and bought a few different variations of the circuit to figure out what exactly makes them tick, and which variants would be able to fulfil my needs. OSs I tried include: JHS pulp n peel v4, JHS Whitey Tighty, JHS Lime aid (v2 pulp n peel but for bass), Chicago Stompworks Squeezie, Greer Fish Press, and Toadworks Mr Squishy. Right off the bat, all 3 JHS pedals and the Mr. Squishy didn't have the right attack timing. no matter how I set them I wasn't getting that breathing sound I'm after. However, the Squeezie and the fish press both can get there in spades. I really love how this circuit gives a bit of beef all around and depending on how you have the bias trimmer set you can really get from mild to wild. In all honesty the Squeezie is my favorite for getting that one specific sound, however the Fishpress is going to be living on my board because of the versatility of the squish knob, giving me the ability to go from mild to SQUASH without opening up the pedal. Thanks again to everyone who gave me advice, and I hope this final comment can help someone in the future.
