Ah, ok. Well remember that's not a 5'er which is the main issue...
I have about as good a sounding 4 in my Euro (which has the Haz Labs copy preamp as well) and it's disgustingly awesome, just no B string. I'm just being picky as my tone was flat out great when tracking, I was just missing some notes I get to play live is all.
Plus I just sold about the nicest SR5 I've seen in a long time bc I just can't stand that radius neck that the EB/MM's and Fenders have. Already owned Sadowsky, USA Fender, various MM's etc and I usually keep them under 2 weeks at the most.
I have yet to try a new Woodstock Spector. But can say the Brooklyns are as good as advertised.

I had an '85 Brooklyn NS-2, #954 IIRC, and yes, they ARE THAT GOOD!!

On another note, had 2 rehearsals with the band, Thursday and Friday. On Thursday it felt like one of those days where I question my playing abilities and wonder why I am doing this...Friday was better though
My SVT-4Pro suffered extensive damage from the bi-amping attempt so a buddy of mine (who is endorsed by Ampeg and who is friends with the guy that does repairs for them in Seattle) is going to take it to Seattle for me next week and have their repair guy take a look at it. Hopefully it'll be brought back to factory standards.
For the mean time, I borrowed an SVT-3Pro. Yesterdays practice with it sounded really good!!
It's a beautiful sunny Vancouver day....off to soak some rays!

I think most people have days where they don't feel they are performing up to our capabilities. Same thing goes with writing songs and having "writers block". You aren't alone in that boat. Trust me Haha

I'll keep an eye out then for a deal. I actually just remembered a buddy of mine used to have a ReBop 5 before they switched to the DLX line... need to see if he'll ship it and let me borrow it!

It's definitely the nicest looking NS-2 I own. Of course that's pretty easy when the others are just plain white and black lol
So most people like the OBP-3 better than the Tonepump.
Would you agree with this? : OBP-3>Trim Tonepump>EMG BTS?
Does anyone have a Spector with EMG 40P, 40J, and the Tonepump? Did Spector make a bass with this configuration (or did someone mod theirs)? Ive got the parts on the way
My new Forte 5 is being built with 40P 40J OBP-3 but not TP.

Turn the bass and treb boost way down (almost cut, or maybe cut a little) on the bass. That will give you the nice mid growl. Add the low end back in with the eq after its recorded. The bass boost will get overpowering real quick on these basses and works best in a live setting rather than in the studio. Keep it flat focus on the tone in the mids and you'll be fine , it will not be what you want to hear when your recording through the headphones but it IS there. That's why your having a woffy overpowering issue. If that doesn't work fire the engineer (seriously) and get someone who knows how to record.
