This is actually a better shot of it. And kidneys are not required for this bass LOL I recently put in a brand new Hazlab 9V preamp so it sounds as good as it looks. I'm sure I'll thin out the heard one of these days. And always looking for a Brooklyn NS-2..

"And always looking for a Brooklyn NS-2"....Thats the 3rd guy in two weeks that has said they are looking for a Brooklyn NS-2.....Have to agree the Brooklyn NS2 is "the Holy Grail" of Spectors...will eat the new Woodstock Spectors.

Just spit coffee everywhere laughing at the new guitar center commercial ! I apologize if any of our members work there , but it's very comical !!!! And no they don't intend it to be humorous . But we all know the normal customer service and employee knowledge that you normally encounter at those stores .

The surgery came off without a hitch.
I was home and chilling out by 4pm yesterday.
And I really appreciate all the prayers and kind words.

Other than a cast and some holes in my leg... I feel fine today. Yesterday was one of those, I feel like Michael Jackson, having been given Diprivan (Propofol) as a general anesthetic. No offense to MJ for I feel that any artist as gifted as he was... it's a shame when they die young... but seriously, I felt like I'd been hit by a bus. I can't imagine anyone taking that stuff every day to get sleep. I mean the sleep part was good, the waking up after was a really bad deal. Not as bad as the days of Sodium Pentathol, but still... nothing you can just shrug off either.

Anyway... I'm fine and plan on spending the weekend working on Spector's website (NAMM Show highlights) and the NEW SpectorCentral. Lots of cool stuff.

And I did manage to get the neck set correctly on my B.O.B. bass this morning. As much as I love Greg (who sold it to me), he had the neck relief set too far back (1/4 turn from having backbow) and the strings buzzed like crazy from the second to 6th frets). So I reset the relief and then worked the bridge saddles until it was right as rain. And now it plays like a dream. Very similar to my NS-2 and NS-4 now. :D So I might just play some bass this morning for a while.

I picked up one of those MXR Compressor pedals that I've seen advertised here on TB lately at NAMM and really haven't done a lot to test it out. So today might be the day.

Anyone have any pics of a Black NS-2 with either a maple or ebony fretboard?...thanks in advance!!

If you want a gloss black NS-2. No. The only one of those made in the past 5 years is mine, but it has a pau-ferro fingerboard and is sitting at Bass Central until I finish their new website. Which is another thing I am working on this weekend.

The Black Pearl is black gloss stain with the maple board.

USA Brooklyn (#1180 White/crown inlays)
SSD 4 Blue Burst (My first SPECTOR)

Wow! Simply amazing collection!!!

Can anyone help me indentify this Spector? It's listed as a "Professional Series Legend 4" but the link to the guitar center listing isn't the same bass. It looks sweet, but I'd like to research the model first. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!
It's a common, yet older model Bubinga Legend.
Having owned the identical bass in both older and newer Legend series, I give a big nod to the older ones.
Obvious differences:
Newer models= 2 band pre, black hardware.
Older models= 3 band pre, gold hardware, actual abalone headstock inlay (I think the newer one was just some kind of plastic).
My older (current) model has far superior fretwork to the newer one I had first.
Another difference marker is these older ones tend to have the "Made in Korea...." blurb on the back of the headstock printed upside down (playing position). Just a funny little oversite they corrected on the newer models. ;)

At $450 it's on the high side of the ballpark. I've seen these on several occasions in pawn shops for only $300. It's great bang for the buck.

Played a show tonight with the spector, and an older musician friend of mine finally saw us play.

After the show he asked if i was playing a Spector because he used to have one back in the late 80's/early 90's
He said it was a 5-string, so by the website, wouldn't that have been an NS-5?
Late 80's it would have to be a Kramer era NS5.
34" scale.

Congratulations on a successful surgery! Just take it easy for a bit and you'll be up break dancing before you know it.

When you go play Fall River let me know...15 min ride for me...:bassist:....Eagle club?

Nope, Playoffs...er, actually I think they changed their name recently to Revive or something like that, they tried to make the place look all fancy.

Not sure when we are playing there next, just played there last weekend and our booking girl hasn't got back to us about it yet

Wow, I've missed out on a lot again! :D

LATINFERNO:
Welcome to the club! Man, that's an amazing collection!! I love it!

Worshiprocker:
Your rig looks seriously sick dude! There must be some crazy tones coming out of that!

JeffplaysBass:
Dude, why are you doing this to me? I JUST bought Patricks Euro and that black one is causing me some serious neuro sensory damage!!
DAMN IT! :)

Patrick:
Glad the surgery went well dude!!!!
Now all you have to do for a quick recovery is to lay a couple of those Spectors on the cast, pluck the strings and let the vibrations do the job! :)
Quick healing dude!

On another note, had 2 rehearsals with the band, Thursday and Friday. On Thursday it felt like one of those days where I question my playing abilities and wonder why I am doing this...Friday was better though :eyebrow:

My SVT-4Pro suffered extensive damage from the bi-amping attempt so a buddy of mine (who is endorsed by Ampeg and who is friends with the guy that does repairs for them in Seattle) is going to take it to Seattle for me next week and have their repair guy take a look at it. Hopefully it'll be brought back to factory standards.
For the mean time, I borrowed an SVT-3Pro. Yesterdays practice with it sounded really good!!

It's a beautiful sunny Vancouver day....off to soak some rays!

Cheers everybody!

I think we all have those days from time to time. I usually just hit the shed until I start to feel better. Hey, it's an excuse to spend more time with the Spector, right? :bassist:

So most people like the OBP-3 better than the Tonepump.
Would you agree with this? : OBP-3>Trim Tonepump>EMG BTS?

Does anyone have a Spector with EMG 40P, 40J, and the Tonepump? Did Spector make a bass with this configuration (or did someone mod theirs)? Ive got the parts on the way :hyper:
