I think gold hardware can look pretty good on certain finishes...just not any of the finishes I like (don't like gold on blue).

It's a personal preference thing but I honestly don't think black hardware would look as good on my blue Euro 5LX

It can. For some basses it can be like puting "Lipstick on a Pig".
But for Spectors, it looks great.
I've seen a couple White NS basses that had Chrome hardware (don't know where they got the fully chromed Spector bridge :hmm:) that I thought looked great.

Ohh you must be talking about the white one I had last year....I told Todd and he had them do it. It came to him with gold and he had to resend it back for the chrome...It was nice on that white bass but gold is better for most (my opinion).

Here is a sound clip comparison of the Tonepump wired at 9 volts and at 18 volts and also the OBP2.

1- Tonepump 9volts 50% Trim
2- Tonepumo 18volts 40% Trim
3- OBP2 9volts

Opinions on the 9 vs th 18? I cant decide if I like it better or not.
I like the 18v better - the low end and growl is still there, but it sounds more articulate in the higher notes.

9v bigger and more "in your face," 18v a bit more controlled and compressed. As mentioned above, not a huge difference, but it's there.

What pickups and settings on the bass did you use? Very cool comparison, thanks for sharing.

Euro 4LX with active P/J EMGs both at 100%
Bass at 100%
Treble at 10%
DR Hi Beams
I rolled a bit of the bass off in the mix down

Lol , it quoted the map , thought we were sharing my goof :) anyway , the 2a blows the Rex away in tone and output . So I've been using it . Been thinking about selling one or both and getting another euro .

Problem is , I've only seen 2 other red Rex's , one 4 , one 5 .

If you ever decide to sell that red Rex, PM me first, that bass looks amazing. :bassist:
