My taxes are finally done so it won't be long before this fine specimen is mine.

In my humble opinion this has taken over as THE sexiest Spector in the club. I am sure there is something somewhere about not lusting after another man bass. Very difficult. This bass would temp a monk!
Congrats!

Agreed

In regards to hardware colors, gold works on some finishes, like black or white (I think black pops better on the white) darker colors it looks nicer than light, and I never thought it looked appropriate on natural finishes, though i've seen a few that were nice.

Love the black hardware on my natural finished NS20004!

The only color I think gold always clashes with is green its just too...bling.
The 'awkward teal' of that Fiver is far enough from green to look nice.

Hence why the Matte Green Forte I have on order will look great with the black Forte hardware :D

Here is a sound clip comparison of the Tonepump wired at 9 volts and at 18 volts and also the OBP2.

1- Tonepump 9volts 50% Trim
2- Tonepumo 18volts 40% Trim
3- OBP2 9volts

Opinions on the 9 vs th 18? I cant decide if I like it better or not.

Yeah the mix is a little bass heavy. You can hear the notes other than the E break up a little more on the 9v . The 18v is a little more guttural. Neither sounds like mine. Any way you could record them again a little flatter with one of the signature Lima bass riffs? Say bass n treb about 60% roll that blend knob forward just a bit too ;)

I like em both on the green . The gold blings , and the black is more stealth.

Don't get me wrong this bass sounds awesome ! It's just compared to the haz copy and the SD pups that's in the 2a that have got that dream sound . I have totally thought about the mighty might ore and a set of better than the hz pups . I have got to decide 100 percent to keep it before I drop the money in it .

That red is super rare. In 10+ years that's the only one I've ever seen. That's a no brainer on keeping it imo.

I hear ya... if you want to see if the MM copy fits, I'll take some measurements of mine... I don't know what the cavity on the rex looks like tho...

Ya that thing is sweet. I think I'm going to keep an eye out for one in 4 string to add to my collection.

I agree with Grendle. That one is rare and I think you would kick yourself if you sold it. Plus, you probably wouldn't be able to get what you wanted for it since everyone seems to want to low ball people when buying things so it would just frustrate you.

I say try a different pre and pickups and that would really make a difference.
