Yeah, GC and Ebay have been way off on pricing the Rebops. At least in my mind. There's a 4 string Rebop in my local music store that's tagged at $499 and has been there for about a year and GC has had similar models priced above $800. I'd watch the classifieds and Craigslist.

too bad it's a 4 haha! i'd call 'em and nab it.

Yeah this was a long, back and forth between Bolt-on's vs NT and US vs. Euro etc, but I officially decided on the Forte!

I was initially looking for flame or quilted maple with an oil rubbed finish, but figured it wasn't worth the extra $1200-1500 when the Forte was everything except the finish. The black has definitely grown on me and can't wait to see it in person!

You won't be disappointed. They're gorgeous!

Here's one priced really well on eBay : Link Removed

Hopefully that link works, I'm on my cellphone.

Actually I'd seen that one but thanks for the reminder to put it on my Watch List! I need to email the guy and make sure it's all in good nic and if he'd put a BIN price on it...... It's not the DLX model but I have played one of the original ReBops and they are darn great even w/out the lacquer and inlays.

Good morning everyone! Just felt compelled to share that I just ordered a Spector Forte 4...I'm psyched as it will be my first US Spector!!! Should be here on Friday!

Congrats :hyper:
You will love it.
Really is an amazing bass.

The black does grow on you and although I just love the classic crown inlays, no inlays on the Forte really lets you see the amazing look of the pau ferro in person. :bassist:

What's a price check on a used ReBop 5 DLX? I've been looking (in vain) for some and really none out there. I looked at the GC site and (naturally) they seem to be pretty well overpriced, in the $1000-1200 range which is more than most Euro NT's I see go for...
What about the pre-DLX models?

Right?? I mean I know they're Czech made but it's definitely not the same piece as the neck-thru's with the true active EMGs and varying preamps.....
I was thinking like $700-800, max.

Over the past few months the GC used section has gone off the wall with pricing on the ReBops, Euros and NS-2As.

It wasnt that long ago that most ReBops sold at GC for $450-$550. ReBop DLX's where $600-$750, EuroLX's were $700-$1100 and NS-2A's where $350-$500.

Now the prices generally are about $300-$500 higher on each model. :spit::mad:

I agree that the inlays will be missed on this particular bass...I love the classic crown look! The matte black is definitely sleek and I'm sure once I see it I will love it!

btw...watched your Spector Story on youtube this weekend! You and Patrick have some AMAZING stories and are truly inspirational! :bassist:
