It's funny- I didn't check the SN but that could be my old one haha.
I sold my white one in like Jan '10 to someone on the Galleria side of town since that's where I used to live, and thought about snagging it back up, but alas it's just a 4 so.
But that price was indeed crazy.
I tried to warn you............
Keep in mind, the TW's in humbucking mode are tonally CS's. So if you think the TW's are dark, don't get CS's. You'll be happiest with DC's.
Now for the (possible) bad news: I haven't been to the EMG site recently, but I think due to the push/pulls and extra coil wiring for the TW's you're going to have to switch the volumes and quick connects. Seems last time I looked the configurations were different. I think the DC's, soapbox P's, soapbox J's and CS's were interchangable with the same quick connects. I think the regular P's, J's and TW's are different.
Check the EMG site to be sure.
Did some research on the EMG site, and it looks the Quick-Connect system is the same across the board; I'll just have to be sure which pins I'm connecting the DC's to, but even if I mess up, it's just a matter of unplugging and reseating the plug on a different set of pins. There's only three sets, so I think I'm good. Now......does anyone wanna buy a brand new set of 45TW's?? Lol

EMG called me back stating that the pins do not line up the same, even though they look like they will. I'd have to use the pots and cables supplied with the DC's in order for them to work....not quite a drop in, but I'd only have to solder two terminals anyways...So, DC's here I come!!

The only bass i have is a Spector NS5CRFM. I honsetly dont see a point in any diffferent bass. Down the road, I'm considering either a Carvin AC50F or a fretless Rebop.
But if I want a Jazz Bass, Spector Coda! But I just love the tone and shape/feel of Spector NS's!
As someone who loves shorter scale basses (my favorite being a 32" scale Aria CSB) Going back to 34" for the Spector wasn't all that bad. It was noticeable but for me there wasn't much of anything that was difficult to do on the 34", maybe because I started with 34" scale and recently got into shorter scales for the ease and speed of playing. The Spector has the body contour ergonomics, but smaller basses are so...small you really don't notice the shape all that much.
When it comes to gigging, I always pick one instrument (and one backup as close to teh same as the main one as possible) and stick with it, I can imagine switching between different scale basses during a show could be a problem. I could never play ONLY Spectors, they can't do everything, but each Spector does more in my experience than any other single instrument I have had.

I can switch from 34" to 35", 4 to 5 string no problem. I prefer 34" scales, but like the 5 string better. So the sacrifice is worth it.
Not Spector related , but what are some decent short scale flats ? They are going on a 75 mustang .
I love GHS Precision flats on my P-bass, I know some others on here like them, they are available in 30-31 inch scale. They get good all around flats tone, I found D'addario Chromes sound a bit mid-scooped, wheras the GHS was pretty solid overall.
The new Squier Mustangs have got me GASing lately, I'd always wanted a 'competition' mustang but those are like $1000, I'd rather get a Spector for that price, but at under 300 I might just pick up one of those squiers if I can try one first.

Yeah the reissues are really decent . A 69 competition blue sold for 2200 on the bay . This one is priceless . It was made in 75 and so was I . Also was my brothers and he died 20 years ago . Was his and my first bass that we both learned on and will be my daughters . Here's a pic !
Super cool. My first bass was also an old short scale, a 70's japanese EB-3 copy (one of the lawsuit models i believe) It was a shock when I got my next bass, a 5-string, as I had no idea there were such a thing as different scale lengths! I wonder how much the short scale Spector costs...probably way too much for me right now

Alright, I just watched a demo video for a Spectorcore 5 string and I think I'll get one after I get a Euro series bass. I'm thinking lined fretless on the spectorcore for something a bit different
