sorry we can't let the bass go for under 1199 or we'd lose money on it..........

Rebop DLX List - 1599
Rebop DLX Retail - 1299
affordable GC Used price on 5-7 year old instrument - 1199

OMG!!! haha...wow are they ever having a dream or what on that price! And it'll sit on their listing for over a year and they'll drop $50.00 probably.
I've learned to watch if you can be patient and once a bass has been listed for 60+ days you can talk them down some more. I've done it. Just got to work them. OR, LimaGuy seems to be very good at price negotiations with GC! :D

i do really like the DLX stuff but over double in some instances for the "standard" Rebops?? nothx...

Part of me wants to try a DLX model just to see if there is any difference than my standard Rebop but personally, I can't see there being much. I really love my 2001 Rebop 5 and can't see a DLX model being that much better. Sure, I don't have the crown inlays but I can live without them for the price I paid.

haha!! I bought a Fender Jazz from GC a few years ago. It was a 2007 purchased in 2009. It was tagged for $900 plus tax and I offered $900 out the door. The first guy I talked to said he could not go any lower on price. A few min later a second salesperson came up and he told me he could only drop $20 and still charge me tax. Both of those offers took each salesmen at least 30 min with on-duty manager. :scowl:

The following day I walked in and went to the accessories counter. The guy working the counter started talking about the bass I was looking at and I hear him say that he wished he could either buy it or find it a good home. I chimed in telling him my story...he dropped $100 off the bass on the spot and didn't even charge me tax. As I walked out, bass in hand, I passed the two other salesmes who would not work with me and flashed them a great big smile!! :bassist:

...this is why I don't really deal with GC for anything...

I believe you'll absolutely fall in love with it!
If you'd like to hear some great soundclips seventhframe has a couple of his! I don't believe I'll play anything else but USA Spectors right now anyways. My Forte5 will be coming in April! Can't wait to hear/feel THAT thunder! Thinking a Forte6 would be a real nice addition... :D

I love Spector's as is, I can not wait to get a US one in my hands! I thing a 6 string Forte would be sick as well!! I didn't know they made them?

I am also hoping that in the coming years they expand the color options to natural, and maybe even another color like blue or green! I would own a natural finished forte in a heartbeat! :bassist:

We usually get to about 1050 before SM Perry gets a chance to open the new thread. Since we are as prolific as we are, it's not uncommon for us to blow through 5 extra pages or an extra 50 posts over nite (8 hours).

He does a great job and pretty much trusts us to do the same as you notice he doesn't need to come in here as often (or rarely) as he does some other threads that seem to need a lot of guidance as they get out of hand easily.

Thanks Marshall, We appreciate you.

Has anyone seen this???

And there's a few Texans in here, has anyone seen this in Dallas? Seems like a fair deal.

Yep...PJ Rubal told us back in Dec. that a Forte 6 is available though it's not on their website. A couple other here were looking at getting one.

I think a natural with the flaming maple they've been getting would be really awesome looking!
