It's one of those nights...The cool breeze, the quiet...contemplation.
I've been playing with this idea for a while and tonight, as the atmosphere and the ambiance were right, I recorded it.

Everything was recorded with the Spector Forte. On this track, I use ALL of my pedals so the list is: (in no particular order or reason)
Volume Pedal---XXL distortion---Tremolo---Bass Octave---M80-Bass DI---Flanger---Envelope Filter---Carbon Copy Delay---Boss Ge7 EQ.
....If I only had a Whammy pedal
This is 6 layers (4 of which are split channels to Left and Right)
Minimal Compression, no EQ....I'm too tired
It's 3:50am and I've been at it for almost 5 hours now.
I named the track after my Wife
It sounds OK on my headphones, I hope it sounds OK to everyone else.

Okay, I'm not superstitious, but I have to tell you guys about this, it's just too weird.
I love love love my NS-4, it's perfect, but as my wife told me last night "its not perfect enough because it's only one bass. The perfect Spector is many Spectors." She's pretty smart....
Anyway, I miss having a 6 string. I have for a while been thinking about a 6 string Spector. Last fall I asked JPS and PJ about the possibility of making a 6 string Forte, because I wanted a USA but was short on cash for the NS-6XL and short on patience.
I e-mailed PJ last fall about it and contacted my dealer in Minnesota and was going to put my deposit down on a Friday. Friday afternoon I felt awful and ended up in the emergency room with pneumonia on Saturday and spent 2 weeks in the hospital, so the Forte went on the back burner.
I have been fine ever since, I am on maintenance drugs after having leukemia last year, they can drop my immune system and my "numbers" (White blood cells, other stuff). The doctor has been adjusting my dosages to make sure they don't drop and they have been fine ever since.
Last week I contacted PJ about the Forte on Tuesday, then my dealer on Thursday and was going to do my deposit on Friday. Friday morning my dad got diagnosed with a weird and rare disease, my Spector dealer who is also a good friend and Spector player went to the emergency room Friday and was in the hospital all weekend with a herniated disc in his back and Friday after school all my "numbers" dropped (I'm fine, just need antibiotics to make sure I don't get sick and shots every day to rebuild my white blood cells). My 7 year old Zian also got kicked in the mouth accidentally by my little girl and lost a tooth.
I'm not superstitious, but I think something is telling me to hold out for the NS-6XL....

Oh my, I think you are correct, or maybe get a Forte 4 or Forte 5 instead.
But I think you are right, dont go with Forte 6

Forte's are black because of all that black magic, brother....save your dimes for the NS! Hope everyone recovers. For some strange reason I just had an image of Jimmy Eppard applying Forte stains in a top hat and skull face paint like the voodoo priest in Live and Let Die?!?!?!?
Wow. This is killer! I feel justified in my defense of the TonePump these past few years... LOL.
Seriously, this is why Rex Brown and Dirty Ray have TPs put in their USA Spectors. Very similar tone to the Haz but more output. With the Trimpot wide-open, the TP is a LOT louder than the Haz. And to guys like Rex and Ray, that counts for a lot.

I think things work out for a reason. And patience is a virtue. So if you really want the full NS-6XL without the compromise of inlays and gloss finish in the Forte... then hold out and get what your heart really wants you to have.
In the end, you, Sam and I all have stared death in the face (*and anyone else out there I may not be aware of... not trying to leave you out) and you know that the only thing that matters is living and being happy. So do what is going to make you most happy.

Are you asking if the EMG BT with HZ's or the TonePump with HZ's will have more output?
Without question the TonePump (with trim pot turned all the way up) will.
With the older TPs (pre-Trim Pot)... the output from TP to TP is sometimes greatly varied. I had a first Gen Euro4LX with original TP and it was 75% as powerful as my newer Euro4LX with the TP wide open. So I'd say that I think the newer ones have the potential to be louder, but on a case by case comparison, it's sort of a shot in the dark.
The original question, BT with HZs vs. TP with HZs... the TP will be louder.

Funny thing is if I shaved my goatee I would look pretty similar to Nathan. I guess that's better than looking like Murderface!

So...some may know that I bought Patricks Euro 4...and haven't heard any sound clips or seen any photos. Reason being, there were a couple of frets that needed re-adjusting so Patrick contacted PJ, had me send it to New York and he made sure that Jimmy would have a look and fix it for me.
I just got the bass back today and it's in perfect form. Jimmy even took the time to write me a note explaining what he did and why.
Simply awesome. I am excited to plug it in and make some music with it. Most likely record something tonight.
I would like to thank Patrick publicly here for doing above and beyond to make sure I got taken care of. You're an outstanding man. Thank you.

I had a TP in my 2010 Euro and I didn't like it all that much and changed it to an OBP-3. After hearing this, I have more respect for the TP!!
side note-I used ULTRA light strings when I first got my Euro 5 (100-32) tuned BEADG...which I think was an issue with why I didn't like the tone all that much!
