Not Spector related at all...BUT thought I'd share.

I took my N.C.E. (National Counselor Exam) today which is what I have to take and pass to be able to practice as a therapist and I PASSED! I said that I would be happy with the lowest score possible but I actually did very well on it and feel great right now!

Hope the members of the SPECTOR club don't mind me asking this in here,
But what are your thoughts on the Professional Series Legend-4 Classic bass?
I know its a beginner-mid range bass, but i have always liked it, and did try one when i first started out but chose a thunderbird epi instead.
Just considering it might be a nice not too expensive way to see if i like an active bass(which i believe it is right?).

Considering im GASing also for a more modern rock/metal sound from a Musicman or MM equipped warmoth, the spector is about half the price of those options, so another thought.

I can't speak too much about the TP, but I really like the Aguilar in my Forte X. I'm not sure if the extra wood has anything to do with it, but it has a real nice sound. Compared to my HAZ circuits, it is a little cleaner, which I don't mind, but I find that the X sounds very close to my NS-2s.
Lima has definitely peaked my interest in the TP though. I had a Euro on loan quite some time ago, and I wasn't into it that much, but it sounded much better when I heard a live recording of it. I'm really surprised at how close Lima's HAZ & TP sound, but I guess that's the point of it, right?

Nope! You came to the right place! :bassist:

It's a good bass for what it is. I'm not a bolt on fan, But the quality is there and it sounds good. Not quite up to par with the MM and Warmoth at that price point but not horribly far off either.

I would look at a used Euro if I were you. They are still a good chunk off the MM or Warmoth custom used and are twice the bass Imo. Also you won't get hurt on the resale if you decide you don't like it. You can find them in the 800-1300 range used in mint cond. pretty regularly. The difference between the legend and a Euro is night and day. Both are great quality ( you don't lose that with any Spector) but the Euro is basically a hand made bass that will hold its own and beat most other basses on the market at any price. :bassist:

Thanks everyone on the Haz/TP/Aggie comparo. This club has some major Spector knowledge. Color me impressed.

I think I just need to chill and see how the Aggie does in the band. Heck if I want it just a little nastier I can always engage the Darkglass B3K. That always seems to do the trick.

Good to know about the Used Euro suggestion.

Primarily looking for a bass with some more oomph in it than my Warmoth, which i believe a Active could grant me.

Not that my warmoth isn't amazing but you know the difference between passive and active.

But i'm not confident to spend the cash on a warmoth if im not definate i would cherish it forever.

Ill definately keep an eye out for a Euro. They dont come in the holoflash i liked on the Classic 4, but maybe thats a bit too flashy even for me :hiding: but do like some of the other paint choices.

But at the moment i can't decide between saving for a Active bass of some kind, or for going to a Head/Cab set up from a combo. Im guessing the latter is more beneficial in the long run, but the former has got me bad on GAS :eek:

The Euro's defiantly have some oomph! lol. Yeah i don't know about holoflash on those though. Something in the middle might be a REX pro. Those are nice and I have seen a lot in the holoflash. Not far off from your bird either. they come with passive pups and an active pre. I don't care for passive basses but the emg hz's sound pretty good with the tone pump pre.

Nothing wrong with the Warmoth stuff except resale. I have played a few warmoth basses and they were all great basses, much better than what most give them credit for. One I should have bought as it definitely had the magic. I just cant get over the bolt on thing. I'm a NT bass guy and have to live happily with that lol :bassist:

Were all cool here, and there is a ton of knowledge / experience here as well. Any time you have any questions on models preamps, what bass is this?, etc. post here. we'll help ya out. And if we don't know, we pretty much have a direct line to Spector and they will. lol

I was at Disney for most of the day. After that...I was pretty much worthless. My kids wore me slap out! I'll hit you up for sure next time though.

I found an old track from last year in ProTools where I recorded my former 1987 Pedulla MVP.

I just recorded the Forte playing the same clip.

This is the Definition of No Growl vs Growl.
Please note I am not saying anything negative about Pedulla, just listen for yourself.

I missed out on 24 years with no growl ;) :crying:
