I LOVE Aggies! :bassist: Especially the OBP3! With it you can dialin lows, mids, and highs! :cool: You can dialin the exact sound that you want or need.

Just a little less high end and a little more low mids. I think the aggi gets a great tone in the forte with the the roll off in the highs for that bass. It has a "sweet" tone that I'm sure can get aggressive.

The HAZ sounds great as well but just a little "off" to me in that bass. Not bad, but like its fighting what the bass wants to do naturally in those high mids. The aggi just kind of lets it happen. I haven't heard a TP in the forte yet though. That might work pretty well actually, or it could be a little too much on the low/ low mid side. Curious now..... You can always pick up a pump for pretty cheap and try it. It's a less expensive experiment than the HAZ which we have some great clips of :) :bassist:

That is one thing on the pump, you gotta watch the bass boost a bit. There's a LOT on tap there and things can get really bassy quick. The 18v mod helps that out a bit, still tons of bass on tap, but it's a little more transparent at 18v. I think. highs are a little sweeter too.

One of the things that I learned about the TP is that the tone varies from type of wood the bass is made out of.
I had the TP in my ReBob 5 DLX and just hated the tone it produce, IMO.
But in my Ian Hill it sounded absolutely awesome! Full Alder body vs. full maple body I guess to say was the difference and the ReBop 5 DLX had Hz pups vs. P/J's in the Ian Hill. That's a big difference I'd say too. Yet, my NS-95 has Hz pups but with the BT pre and full maple wings it sounded awesome!

So there's a lot of variable combos to look at in each bass seperately to consider. It's definately not a "One size fits all" deal, eh! There's tweaking to do to find "Your Sound".

I took my N.C.E. (National Counselor Exam) today which is what I have to take and pass to be able to practice as a therapist and I PASSED! I said that I would be happy with the lowest score possible but I actually did very well on it and feel great right now!

hey guys, do you think the neck on my legend will need to be adjusted if i'm switching from a set of D'addario nickel lights to a set of medium/lights (medium on bottom 3 strings, light on the top 2)? I compared the tension on D'addario's site and it said the medium/light set has about 11 lbs more tension than the set currently on it? So will I need to make a truss rod adjustment? Or can the neck on my legend take it without needing any tweaking?

Sorry for the noobish question, I ran a search and couldn't find anything, and I figured I'd ask here since these are going on the spector. Thanks in advance.

Anytime you chameleon string gauges you're probably gonna have to make some adjustments.

I wish the EMG BQC based 3-band pre that's in my Legend was available aftermarket. It's freaking sweet, and it would for sure go on any future Spectors I own.

The one thing I don't dig about the OBP-3 is the blend pot. I'm a big fan of two volumes.

Monday's a day off. I might be there. Thanks for the code. If I come, I'll make sure you know who I am. You can't really miss me - I'll be the one with red hair. ;) Do you know if they'll let me run the video camera? If so, I'll bring it instead of just the phone (and I'll burn you a copy).

What's the difference between the BQC based preamp used by Spector and the aftermarket EMG BQC System?

I've been lurking in this thread for the past couple months as I learn more about the basses and their owners. After 30 years of thinking about it, I've got my first Spector on the way... a white NS-2A I just picked up from "bclark812008."

I think the BQC used by Spector only had one stacked pot... The current one has two....

I believe the current one you can select the mid frequencies and then boost/cut... I'm no expert...
