I saw it when it first posted and it had a BIN of either $900 or $950. I almost hit the button but I don't seem to get along with 35" scales: (

I had it in my watch list as I wanted to see where it finished.

I see it sold for $917.82 + $50 for shipping

If you are talking about the one on Ebay that just ended today, I think that went a bit high and some of the information looked to be wrong so you might be better off.

They said that the EMG pickups were TW pickups but Limaguy and I were looking at it and the writing was not in orange which is a dead giveaway of the TW pickups. The writing was in white so that means they were DC's which is not a bad thing but what else could they have said that was wrong in there?

If you really want a green Euro, Guitar Center has a used NS5CRFM on their site for just a bit more than what that one went for on Ebay and you might be able to talk GC down a bit. The stock number is 107491256 and here is what it looks like:

On a non-Spector Bass note...ordered my iPad 3 tonight!

I pre-ordered one also. I was going to pickup an Ipad2 since they are dropping them $100 but I figured I would just get the newest model and be done with it

Yeah, that's the one I was talking about. I thought the price was alright on it, I was fine paying what it went up to, and I also noticed that the information was a little off. The ad said it was purchased new from guitar center in 02, and I have an 01 euro 5LX, so I figured the electronics would be the same. If I can call and get GC down to around what the green euro on Ebay sold for, I think I'll be buying it, I just can't see them dropping the price that much.

Well let's make sure you have the USA 9v Circuit in it.

The pots should be attached to a board that fits inside the control cavity compartment... like in the attached photo. If so, then sending the bass to Spector for any circuit repair will not decrease the value of the guitar.

I'd avoid doing that if at all possible. So long as the pots don't have problems with popping, noise, static, etc... The older 9v Spector Circuits used a different set of pots than the current versions. The circuit itself is still the same, but advances in the tech for pots has been incorporated into the newer circuits. They are less likely to have issues or go bad.

The last resort would be to contact the contractor that makes the circuits for Spector (HazLabs in NJ) and see if they can repair the pots for you.

It's an electric bass guitar and circuits eventually degrade due to heat and other factors caused by pushing electricity through them. But so long as the bass works I'd not be too worried about changing the pots. The 1/4 plug is fine. Those go bad. They sometimes need to be replaced.

So long as the bridge, nut, tuners, knobs, circuit, back cover and back cover screws are original I think it's fine.

And if you're like me, a bass that old that you've had a long time, it doesn't matter anyway because you'd never sell it.

That is so cool when they do that. I noticed something similar on my NS-5 but yours is definitely more noticeable whereas mine is a bit subtle.

USA Spectors... the headstocks have a layer of Ebony instead of black laminate like the other series do.

Because Ebony is a wood and the color varies from piece to piece... some are more noticeable, others not so.

The Ebony wood grain is much harder to see with the high gloss finish models whereas it's much more apparent with the oil and matte finished basses.

The Black Pearl's headstock is so dark you have to hold it under bright light to see the pattern, whereas the headstock of my NS-4 is more visible.

Another little thing that makes the USA models special. It's the little details that add up with the USA Series.

I've never specifically asked him if he does this. I don't doubt that he does, or even it might be more just an instinct... he reaches for a certain neck to be married with certain wings knowing without having to think about it that the combos he picks will look good together.

The darkest ebony I've ever seen on any of the headstocks of the 100+ USA Spectors I've photographed in the past two years is on the Black Pearl. A bass that was specifically designed to be "color coordinated" with the black MOP inlays.

The necks are bonded (the three pieces of Rock Maple) then they are routed for the truss rods and carbon fiber supports, the angled headstock is shaped, meaning the angle but not the headstock shape, then the fingerboard is added. From there the necks are shaped and the ebony applied to the headstock. They then go into a bin where they wait until chosen to be bonded to a set of wings.

It's an amazing process. Here are some photos to show you what I mean.

Congrats! Yep...I thought the same thing. The new display was hard to say no to. Lol I bought the WiFi only model. Can't see paying for 4G LTE service prices. I mainly want to use mine for music purposes anyways.

Sometime before the week is out, I am going to take new family pics....I should have at least 4 Spectors here by the weekend (or monday at the latest)....2 are here, one will be here tomorrow and I just sealed the deal for the NS2J AR....STOKED!!!!

wow!!! I love that back! Is that also Spalted maple? The grain is incredible!!!
