^^^Man what an awesome looking bass.^^^
Looks good!
cleanest sounding rig I've ever played through.... I couldn't get it to growl.... but I only played it for about 30 minutes and didn't go full volume. I'm not sure what model it was... some 212 combo type deal.
I finally got around to taking some beautiful pictures outside on a gorgeous sunny day!I can't believe how the Maple Flaming popped out!!!

My buddy from another band has another one of their combos and loves it, but he uses effects for all his distortion, I just prefer the more natural sound of doing it myself![]()
Slinkies are 15.00 a set at best buy....ask me how I know!!!! It is cheaper for me to go there because I have soooooo many basses!!!
I would say there is a tad more string noise....the ole "no free lunch" deal but I will gladly take the trade-off. Yes, for me, I really prefer a picked tone but I don't pick and not really in the mood to convert. Played near the bridge these strings get the best "pick tone" I've heard played with fingers.
Has anyone here used markbass cabinets? From what I've heard they are pretty hi-fi, but I want something I can distort a little when I push it hard.
My local GC carries a lot of markbass stuff and is having a ridiculous sale so I might be able to snag a cabinet for a good price, but if they are too clean sounding I would rather not.
I gets 6 months out of a set..
A good string like DR will last you maybe 5 years then![]()
perhaps, I use EBs or D'Addario xl nickels....not too many brands have the thinner gauges.....I can get 40-95 in a bunch of different ones but the 35-95s or 30-90s are another stretch of road....those go on the slap basses....
you can build your own set on bassstringsonline.com if you want a custom guaged set of DRs.
yuuup. That's what I do!

WOW! Your Forte looks SWEEEET! It might be the natural light, but your FB looks so much lighter and more red than mine!
