I love humbuckers in my current Spectors, and may someday order a Euro, but I have no use for single-coil mode, and it would probably be a hassle to switch from them to CS's because of the extra wires.

Thanks. Ya, been busy busy. Installed new hardbags LED lights STR module and fabbed a harness for the wiring on my softail... among other things.
Fighting with my iPhone laptop and desktop email programs to all work together. AOL messed me up by sending spam reports on all my emails lalalala...

It became apparent this would be too hard to do with the A and D slots so I ran out to Lowes and found a micro diamond file set with a nice rounded file. I should have just started with that to begin with since it was much faster and easier.

It's not the prettiest job and some of the brass coloring wore off the nut in the process, but the bass plays a lot better now. I just need to do some final tweaks with saddle height and I think it's there. I can only imagine how easy it would be with the right tool!

I'd still like to try and get a new pre-cut BEAD brass nut from Spector if possible but if not I can live with this. Just pretty disappointed my setup guy of 17 years turned me down saying he didn't want to use his files on brass. You'd think I was asking to file through a steel can LOL.

Dremel stone bits work reall well and leaves a smooth finish too. But don't put them in the drill...if you want a professional BEAD nut order thru AJ @ [email protected]

I started opposite...after 20yrs playing in original bands and doing the studio stuff and only having very few covers. Now I have started recently doing the cover thing. Strange how you bust b@lls writing your own stuff and then play live most people don't appreciate it as much as when you do covers. You play covers you fill the shows and people are way more into it. Either way I love playing live!!! And love my Spectors!!!
