Swapped out the EMG's for a set of SGD ND3-40's.

Nice! I put the 4 string set (ND3-35) in my NS20004 when I 'restored' it and I freaking love them. Debating putting them in at least one of my other three EMG-humbucker equipped basses.

Also unrelated :For those of us not in the south, what the crap is the "Nashville numbering system"??

o I got some DR DDT today .055 .075 .095 .115 ... I strung it up played for 10-15 minutes on my home rig and it sounded great... I have practice in a bit and will give them a good workout.

One thing I will say I've noticed soo far is they stay in tune A LOT better that the rotosounds I had on it before... I am tuned C# G# C# F#, the rotosounds would really sip out of tune especially on my low C#..

Glad they're working for you. I could never get in to them for some reason.

There's an Ebay auction right now for a Euro4LX-TW-35 and the seller has used a couple of my photos... of Omer Cordell's bass.

I've approved him to do this. He's one of Spector's endorsed artists, a totally legit and good guy... who BTW, is a well-known and legendary bassist in his own right; he's been a Spector Artist for 20 years.

So please, get the word out and be nice to him. He's not trying to pull anything over on anyone. He simply is too busy recording a new album to take photos for himself so it's OK with me if he uses the ones I took.

Both his bass which looks like Omer's and Omer's bass, which is really amazing and will be featured in a new SpectorCare video I'm going to try and get finished this weekend, are available for sale. And Omer's is also available for trade. Contact him for details.

Seen that good price too.

Hey guys,

This is one fast damn thread. I've been playing my Spector legend 5 for a while now. It's a great sounding bass but it still hasn't dethroned my 81 G&L 4 banger as my main axe. I think I'm still getting use to it. For a fiver I do really like the neck at this point. Maybe I need to get a Legend-4 to see how it compares to my G&L.

That's a nice bass for the price. I'm a ways off from buying another bass though. I bought my fiver used and there's still some quastion to the preamp. From what people on this site have said it's a haz copy. When I had Mike Lull do the set-up he said it was a stock MIK pre. Anyway, for the best "Spector Growl" do you guys shade your blend toward the bridge pick-up? I'm still new to the whole Spector thing, but I'm diggin it so far.:bassist:

right on. i dont know how the other guys do it, but in a legend, im about 99% sure it has an emg pre. i set my middle for most songs. for funk lines, i go with the bridge. has that middy sound to it, but mine also has the 3 band eq. thinking about upgrading the pre to a tonepump and active emg's eventually and get even closer to the true spector growl :hyper:

some new pics of the legend with new stickers.;)

Got a Tone Pump on the way for my Rex5... I had been running it with a p5 and dc and no "preamp" but I've been pretty stoked on what I've been getting out of my TP recently and decided it couldn't hurt to add it to my Rex as well

Make sure to post the results or better yet, sound clips! :bassist: I've been thinking about upgrading my Rex5 with a Tonepump and some active EMGs when I can afford it. I was actually thinking about trying dual 40P5s.

With my Legend 4...the pre is a TonePump Jr. , to get a good Spector growl I set to neck pup 100%, bridge 50%, bass boost 100%, treble boost 25%. Oh yeah...and I replace the nut with a brass nut. Gives more bite & clearness. GHS precision SS FW strings. :bassist:

Gents,
Well Fate has decided... I am a Spector owner. My Black Cherry Euro 4LX is staying. I had a few offers from some of the guys here on TB but nothing that made me want to part with it. The one that really got me though was from a guy that said" You know you're CRAZY trying to sell it, there is nothing better out there." Nice huh!
Give me a Spector hug!
Brent
