Talk about timing! Allison Webster, Alex's wife is a photographer and she took recent pictures of Five Finger Death Punch at a show. She happened to post a close up of his Rex bass with the P/J pickups.

ahah i have no clue he had those.... Last I talked to him he had said he had 6 Rex4 basses...

I shall investigate

That's right, you know him. Is he a tall dude? The reason I ask is that Rex body looks tiny compared to him which gives the impression he is a really tall guy. 6? Good for him.

I'm not great at height est... But he's taller then me and I'm only like 5'7 lol

I'm not sure how much more the rex5 compared to the rex4 bodies but i always thought the 4 looked small.

I asked him first before putting up my Rex for sale and then found out he had a full stock of 6 total lol

I created a bit of a problem for myself. I've currently got more Spector basses than I have time to play, or space to hang.

I had wanted a REX4 Pro for quite a while and I picked one up from a fellow TBer about 3 weeks ago: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f126/spector-rex4-873182/

It's a very cool Spector and a lot of fun to play. The problem arose when a 1994 NS-4 popped up for sale the very next day, and I bought it, too. Then a Euro 4LX also jumped in the mail.

Go figure... my front door is a GIANT SPECTOR MAGNET:bassist:

Anyways... please PM me if you'd like a really excellent condition REX4 Pro holoflash shipped to your door (Con USA lower 48 only) for PayPal $450.

I'll post it in the bass classifieds tomorrow.

All the best...

Sounds like this one's for you, worshiprocker... ;)
Good luck with the sale, the Rex is a great bass and that's a great price! :hyper:

When I first saw the Ad for the White NS-2A, I got very excited, my first Spector (That I still have, it's black now and beat up pretty bad) was a White NS-2A. I have always wanted another one, but it had to be the "Right" one. Lots of them are really beat up, I wanted one that was in good shape that I could play and not do anything to.

I was excited until I saw Steve's asking price, just out of the question for me for that bass. Than after JPS talked to him, I PM'ed him and told him if he was looking to sell it at closer to the going price for an NS-2A, I would be interested. He PM'ed me back and then we talked on the phone for about 45 minutes. I can say Steve seems like a very nice guy, and I believe he honestly didn't know what it was worth. I don't believe he was trying to rip anyone off and now that I have bought the bass :bassist: :bassist: he has been nothing but up front and great to deal with.

He is going through some pretty heavy medical stuff, I can relate. He really doesn't want to sell the bass, but has to, and he has a MTD he loves he is keeping, but he does want to get another Spector when the time comes he is back on his feet.

Not starting anything here, just letting you know he seems like a stand up guy and has been great to deal with. Once I get the bass I hope it is in the condition he says it is, I will hopefully let you know that the bass is as awesome as he says it is. I told him we will welcome him into the Spector club when the day comes he gets another one.
+1 Chris!!!

ReBop 5 possibly incoming............................ :bassist: :bassist:
Congrats!
This is interesting. I was reading the Blabbermouth web site and they mentioned that a New Jersey metal band named Attacker has a new bass player. What does this have to do with Spector you say? Check out the bass he is holding.

I am not familiar with this band but I'll have to check them out since they are from my state.
Nice!
NBD!

After much delay, teeth gnashing and worrying - it's here. It's a lot lighter than I thought it would be. Somewhere between my Rebop and my Forte - weight-wise.

Seems to be V V Mid and stacked B/T, not sure if this is EMG pre or not.

Sounds quite good. Need to slap some new strings on it, but it plays rather well. Also, working on a custom Rebop with BC and PJ. Details to follow. :D
Congrats Pele! Nice addition!
that looks sweet, I love the Legend 5 headstocks... I'd love to hear your opinion of it compared to the ReBop.....

I'm thinking Rex4 will be my next purchase.... with P/Js and a tonepump
IMO thats bass would be the ticket for your band!!!
I've really been wanting to add some 40P/J pickups and a Tonepump to my Rex5 recently. Considering the Rex uses a solid maple body and neck-through construction like the U.S. models, some upgraded electronics could turn this into a seriously mean(er) bass! :bassist:
The 40P/J's are awesome! Love it in my Forte 5!

Yep, I love the look of the Rex. I've actually been wondering about going with P/P pickups instead of P/J. I've never seen a Spector with a dual P setup, but I played a Fender Blacktop Jazz with the dual P's and it was the best sounding Fender I've ever played. Mixing that with an EMG/Spector tone might turn out awesome I think.
Dual P?!?! that would be the ultimate tone! I've seen a picture of one several months ago posted in our club... One of a kind.

I need to drive up to Anaheim or LA to catch CC. It'd be nice to see them. Still trying to catch Mastodon, and of course Iron Maiden.

I've seen Dillinger Escape Plan 5 times. Once, Mastodon opened for them, but I missed the opening act. :/

Anyway, updated family pic:

Great looking family!
DEP is definitely a must see. I really, really want to see Mastodon, but just missed them in L.A. Argh!
