Yeah you'd have a hard time selling me out of an SSII5 to a Euro 5... just being honest lol. You'd probably need to look at something in the NS-5 range, as that's more of an "apples to apples" comparison.

However, tonally the SSII5 vs. the Euro 5 are totally different beasts, so it's definitely worth trying out. I'm just saying it'll give you another good option, even if it doesn't "replace" necessarily the Stage II 5'er.

I would definitely go with the Euro LX models to get a good idea of what Spector is all about! I had a Euro 5LX and a Forte4...they were both GREAT instruments!!

There is something truly special about the instruments that come out of the NY shop, but the Euro's NAIL the overall vibe and feel!

I am about to order an BO US 5, but am VERY tempted to order a Euro instead to save some $$$!

You can find a few really nice used ones in the classifieds! :bassist::bassist:

There is also a really nice US BO Spector in the Classifieds for around $2k...even has the buckeye burl top and high gloss finish!

But I had told Jaymi earlier that if it didn't sell for my slightly inflated price I would just keep it. Soooo I still gots it. I guess I'm just torn. It really is a wonderful instrument. Looks beautiful, sounds great but I don't think I was ever really drawn to Spectors before. I was a huge Eddie Jackson fan during the late eighties and early 90's. Sting of course. I really liked the tones Colin Edwin of Porcupine Tree was getting with his Euro's. Time will tell I guess...

The Euro 5LX! It's a "WorkHorse"! Tons of tone and Thunder! Beautiful playing neck and low action! If you could afford just a little more I highly recommend the USA Forte 5!!! I've owned one for a couple months now and WOW!!! Thin neck and string action that rests just on top of the frets! With the Aguilar OBP3 it's a tone monster!!! My 2cents :D

Gawd that blue one is to die for! You know what I think it might be? Connection. Many of you guys have been Spector fans forever. Honestly I know very little about them myself except from what I've read. But I must say the knowledge you guys put forth is amazing.

I never said Jaymi told me to offer you a lower price. I said "a couple members" told me to offer you a lower price. Lets not assume, please.

Brent, was not I talking about price...regardless, you need to keep it and stay in the fold with us here...I have not had my Spectors that long but I can tell you they are second to none...and I was a die hard Rick guy for the last 25 years...
