This is how I met Jaymi - through Rics. Now he's the damn Spector pusher man, trying to make junkies out of all of us. :D I should have bought one a long time ago, but, it's never too late! As long as I'm making money playing music, I have an excuse. They also work as tax write-offs. :bassist:

I have my dream Spector spec-ed out in my head, but that will never happen unless I win the lottery. Or sell my 8 string Ric... :ninja:

There is something truly special about the instruments that come out of the NY shop, but the Euro's NAIL the overall vibe and feel!

I am about to order an BO US 5, but am VERY tempted to order a Euro instead to save some $$$!

Thanks! I haven't even played it yet - its scheduled to arrive Thursday (he says, looking at his watch & counting the minutes). And I love Grendle's greenie too - its probably the nicest top I've ever seen on a Euro.

hey. there's nothing wrong with legends. especially if that's all some of us can afford. granted theyre not as nice as the more expensive, but for the money, theyre way better than most basses.

maybe a forte will get you into the ball park of the usa game. i know a few of the guys here have them. im sure they could tell you all about them.

And let's not forget what an incredible value a used Euro can be.
I bought a USA NS4 because I've wanted a top-shelf Spector for as long as I can remember, but I certainly didn't NEED one - my 2 Euros sound and play as nice as anything I've ever owned or played in the past 30 years...

used Euro for $1400-1500 versus Used USA for $1900-2050 and those are posted prices that might have a little wiggle room in todays economy I am guessing. I have turned down (stupidly I suppose) Euro fives to the tune of $900 for a nautal and $1000 for what I would call a red stain.....but this was a month ago.....I am guessing based on what I am reading that if I can get a used USA model for only 400-500 more than a used Euro then I should pounce on it?

very nice. :bassist: i cant say from experience because i have no clue. but if it were me, at that price range, you can have a selection of what to play and hear. just to see what you like best. forte's are more in the price range of the euro's.

Alright, I didn't want to say anything until I got it, but here's the Kramer era NS-2 I just got. It's my first Spector, and I love it so far!

Grendle's green Dougie is absolutely gorgeous up close and personal. He let me check it out at one of his shows. I was pondering trying to sneak out, but I'm pretty sure he didn't even blink. LOL. She's definitely a player.

Keep your eyes peeled & check local CL ads frequently - I scored my used plum Euro for around $800. And if you can find a USA for for $400 - $500 more than that, BUY IT!
