Holy crap, NS-2A is like brand new! White, very clean, very cool looking, it doesn't sound as I would like, sounds good, but I think it needs the Haz... Temping.

Only downside so far is that I wanted to play it, it was packed in packing peanuts, which would have been fine but I turned my back to get the bass out of the gig bag and check it out and the kids got the box...2 hours later I finally got them all cleaned up. More of a review to come, here's a pic and a pic of the mess:(

Congrats Chris! That is clean & lovely! Haha kids love packing don't they! I thought our ups truck comes late 5-6pm but yours beats that! :ninja:

There may also be a Euro 4 heading up to the classifieds soon as well. I've gotten distracted by something shiny so my fretless adventures may end before they really get started. :ninja:

Reminds me of a certain halloween costume I built (though this was only the beginning of a styrofoam disaster...and 100% my own doing):

And yes. Colin did have the best costume in the entire school. Mission accomplished. :D

Lololol:D That is one awesome costume!!! I especially like the pic with him sticking out of the sunroof! Haha! Awesomeness! Great taste in beer BTW! :) What are you, an engineer? That was masterful e!!!

The ReBop I have incoming is nice, but there's been an influx of Euro 5's that have hit the market here recently after I already moved ahead on that one... I shoulda waited! :bawl:
Oh well. It'll take me a week or two to decide if I want to keep it or not, so hopefully there will be some nice Euro 5's still available in the next month or so.

Ha! That shorter than I kept my Forte 4! :ninja: After I received my Forte 5 I wondered what the heck I was thinking going with a 4?!:eyebrow::rollno::bassist:
Can't wait to see your ReBop and what your thoughts are on it.:):bassist:

Heh, thanks. No, not an engineer. Just a firm believer in doing things properly. All of the R2 costumes I found online weren't scaled correctly and looked stupid. So I built my own. The rule around here is that each kid gets one excessive costume per lifetime. (#1 went as a juicebox a few years ago). :D At some point this summer, I'm going to write up a comprehensive set of build instructions with templates for the legs. There was a lot of trial/error that went into R2 v1.0. PM me if you want get on the distribution.

Well they say confession is good for the soul...
Most here know how pro flatwound strings I am, well...
Out of desperation in order to play my Forte 5 I took off the black TapeWound strings and put on some rounds...DARN if they don't sound great on Angel! A whole lot more sustain, more growl, deeper more defined lows and mids! Time will tell if I can stay with rounds or not. But right now I'm enjoying them. Best I've heard on one of my basses. Must be the OBP-3. Thanks to Jaymi! I might just try some DR LoRiders, who knows! I'm not sure what brand these strings are...they came off my former ReBop 5 DLX about one year ago. Good thing I kept the strings I strip off new basses!
The black TapeWounds sounded good but started to get deadening frets here and there. I would buy them again for a fretted bass. For a fretless they'd be great.

Well that's cool that there's other dads out there like that!
One of our adult sons a couple years back went as "Bender" from the adult cartoon,"Futurama". He won a contest down in Columbus, Ohio in one of their big bars. I'll find a pic to post sometime.
Thanks but all our kids are adults and our grand kids are girls.

I heard that brah lol.
I've pretty much promised myself I can't buy another 4... Your Forte 5 is just sick. I really really like the look of those. Maybe will keep an eye out for one secondhand... :hiding:

My favorite bass player Dan Briggs of Between the Buried and Me is a Spector endorsee. His new side project, Trioscapes, is fantastic! I guess it could be classified as fusion, but im not sure. Anyways, Give this a listen if you can. Amazing Spector tone!
Here ya go!

WOW! That was just amazing!

Man this SAS you guys mentioned is some crazy stuff.
Only had my first SPector in hand for like a week as of tomorrow and I am thinking very seriously about letting go of a mint trans white Mike Lull 54P in order to get most of the funds up for this One off Spector US BO 2012 NAMM show bass I just ran into at the same store where my other one was bought new by the original owner.
I would really like to grab this bad boy, it is total opposite of the one I now own. Blues/greens VS Reds/Oranges..........EMG soapbars VS aguilar JJ.......BEM board VS Pau Ferro Board.....
Seriously giving this some thought! :D

And just for visual reference sake here is the one I just bought a week ago.
So ya can see what I mean about this above one being the opposite of what I now have.

I believe that is hanging in Todd Cooke's store Guitar House of Tulsa. Todd is a good guy to deal with, I am currently working with him on a HS5H2...not to mention he has a RIDICULOUS Spector collection! You can check it out at http://www.spectorworld.com/

Shoot him a message or give him a call. He will definitely treat you right! :bassist:
