My 5er has serial number in cavity so not sure how old it is

Based on the ser # inside the cavity, the brass bridge, the crown inlays and the BT Pre, it is aprox a late 1999 to 2000 model.

Looks like it ha some active pups and someone decided to have one battery per pickup and a battery for the preamp .

If jarrod is correct and the batteries are wired in parallel (9V)... everything is cool. If they're wired in series (27V) and you run more than one... things may get toasty.

My NS-2A had a 2nd battery clip wired in parallel so you could easily change the battery without having to fiddle with the rigidly mounted battery clip on the pc board.

Everything I've read has said that the Korean HAZ copy should only be powered with 9V.

Looks like they wired the EMG's to run at 18Vs

and then the Korean Haz to run on a separate 9V battery

I looked again , looks like the pups are wired in series and the pre is on its own . Weird , needs to be changed . There is no need for that mod .
