ya I've seen that, I like to hear basses played by different players.... tone is in the fingers \m/ congrats again brotha!

I just ran through my band's set list on the Webster; my observations:

1. My fingers are black from the new strings
2. I swear that the 3-band EQ on that pre allows me to "shape the growl"
3. To Grendle's point, the neck is ultra-thin (front to back); I can play fast as ****
4. My hands are not fatigued at all.
5. The sound is so clear, yet heavy. I've never been able to get that kind of definition from a bass before.
6. No funny stuff - going from the Webster right into my Cafe Walter. The "bare" sound of that bass is NUTS!

I hope to be able to provide some sound clips in the future. Tone IS in the fingers, and I play very heavy. More to come!

Your Alex Webster looks fantastic. I'm sure you peaked the SAS level of anyone looking at this model. Congrats on your NBD.

I just just got a notice that my planned NBD is now a No-Bass-Day. I bought a new in box Euro 4LX last week for a darn good price. The seller politely notified me today that the bass would not be in stock for a few weeks and refunded my money.

Seems that I'm stuck with my USA Spectors for the time being:bassist:

That's BS. Did they advertise it as in stock? Also id want the bass when it arrives especially if the price was really low. I see some negative feedback for sure. That's serious false advertising. Sounds like a " we can't sell it for that, make something up" issue.

Ugh!!! What a bummer. I agree with Grendle - stick 'em!
Whatta let-down. However, if you gotta fall back on something, a U.S. Spector is about as good as it gets!

Sweet Alex Webster bass man. Yeah, all Spector's come strung with Spector nickel strings so that would explain why your hands started turning black after playing for a while. To be honest, I really like the Spector nickel strings though and will most likely put them on my Euro 5LX when it is time to change the Hi Beams.

I believe there was a younger kid in here a few months ago that had an Alex Webster bass and had pictures of himself playing it at a school recital. It was funny seeing a blood stained bass being played at a school thing like that :)

Seeing those knobs makes me want to drop a BQC into my Euro 5LX. Those are the stock EMG knobs that come with the pre and are really cool looking. And anything thinking it's a lefty bass, he is most likely using a web cam so everything looks backwards on it.
