dayummm man, that's hot!
Looks like lizard skin.
Awesome bass! :bassist:

*drools onto iphone*

 sick man! That thing is freakin awesome.

Gotta say it again, Killer shot of a beautiful bass! WOW!:bassist:
If looking at that pic does not produce SAS, I don't know what does? :)

Thanks dudes. When I saw it on display at NAMM, I just had to have it so thanks to Limaguy, JPS, and PJ it became a reality. That's the great thing about this company....even a mediocre nobody player like me can get a bass like this when it is on display so keep your eyes open when they show their basses at BPL and NAMM. :)

:bassist:One of you guys posted a short little video of your three finger picking technique several weeks ago. Whoever that was who posted it.... Thank you! I've spent about 5 minutes a day since then just practicing straight notes and galloping and it was bordering on embarrassing at first. But tonight it just clicked. I was actually just playing with three fingers and it sounded good. :bassist:

yeah man. i saw that video and was just like "wow" i want to be able to do it that fast and accurate. somehow, like you, it just clicked and off im going. almost that fast too! it's an awesome feeling when you "get it". :hyper:

I found this little gem online a week ago and have been trying to sell my 'wick to fund it's purchase. I finally found a buyer, his payment cleared today and within 5 min I was on the phone giving the GC employee my credit card number, gotta get that 1% cash back too! The guy on the phone had to double check to make sure the price was marked correctly. Yeah, that's right, a Spector Rebop 5 for just under $600 shipped to my door. It won't be coming with a gig bag or case, which works for me, I already have a nice SKB that it'll fit right into.

:hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper:

I am so excited!!!

I had a Legend Bubinga 4 a few years ago. It came with active EMG P/Js and a BQC system. I metallized it by ordering a full set of black hardware directly from Spector. I still remember how amazed I was that PJ had gotten back to me so quickly with pricing, and on a Saturday no less!! Trying to get black hardware for that 'wick was a PITA. And outrageously expensive to order from W. Spector takes care of their customers and even the entry level instruments are on par with most other companies mid to high end equipment Ibanez.

I'll post up some better pics than the GC pic for sure. I'll wait to request my number after I actually have it in my grubby hands.

Can't wait :hyper:

That's awesome. I have a new Rebop 5 and it's like a gateway drug. This week I've been selling everything I own to get a Euro.

Let us know how that GC transaction goes after you receive it. I always wonder what you might get off the wall/floor in a GC, sight unseen.

when dude emailed me, said it was tip top, but of course that's a salesman talking :eyebrow:

And it's used to boot. It was a return, the guy brought it back after a week or so. Either he didn't like it or just used it to record and brought it back. I can return it to a local GC if there's anything wrong with it, but the dude said it plays flawless and the electrics work. Those will be gutted soon anyway, to make way for a set of 40DCs and an EMG BQC. As close to a Euro as I'll ever get.

Sweet! That is exactly like my Rebop 5 that I got from Guitar Center also. You will not be disappointed since it really is a great bass for the money. I think I might order a trim pot tonepump for mine soon though since the output is very hot and I want to be able to adjust it to the same level as my other 2 Spector's.

Can't wait until you get it and let us know what you think.

It's funny because when I ordered mine, I said the exact thing and wanted to swap out the tone pump and pickups with a BQC and EMG DC's. When I got the thing though, I was surprised how great it sounded. Of course, that was after swapping out the dead strings that were on the bass and tightening the loose pots since they were buzzing a bit.

Here is a clip I made like 2 weeks ago playing the riff from "rain when I die" by Alice in chains. I am tuned to C# and have the bass and treble turned up all the way but one thing that happens which I don't like is you get a hum in the background when you boost the treble all the way. Here is the clip and you can hear it in the background.

[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

A few people mentioned that it might be the pickups since are passive and not hum canceling supposedly so completely disregard what i just said before and you might want to throw DC's in there since they are active. I think that is what I am going to do but I haven't completely decided yet.

Awesome tune and tone.

Here's one I'm sure has been shared here before. A purple Spector Euro just killing it.

Even if you don't like the music, check out :20 to :30. Friggin incredible. Talk about three finger technique. LOL!!

I've seen that documentary. Amazing. Have you guys checked out Alex Webster's instructional book. I have it and I can't help but to laugh every time I see him play. It's mind blowing stuff. The book comes with a play along CD. If you are up for a challenge, it's a challenge of a lifetime. Well for me anyway.

Maybe I'll just keep selling stuff and buy a bloodless Alex Webster Spector .
