The 9V Haz is just amazing. :bassist: The Tonepump is a close 2nd. The Tonepump is a bit more "airy" sounding and it does have more low end and the treble gain is at a higher freq then on the Haz.

As John mentioned, I also have the trim in my Tonepump at 30% now to match the output of the Haz in my Forte and NS-2.

The Haz has tons of mid range punch and growl.

It is the big part of what makes gives the classic Spector Tone.

The Tonepump was designed to get that tone and it comes pretty close.

I did the Haz installation myself. It comes with everything you need including a new jack. No soldering needed
(See photo below)

You will need to prep the pick ups wires to get them in the post of the Haz board.

As far as the Euro pot holes. My Cherry Euro LX has 8.5mm pot holes which are just barely too small for the 9mm pot shaft of the Haz board. From what I understand its hit or miss, you may or may not need to make them bigger.

Chris, you got yourself a cool tech if he only charged you $20 for the install. nice :hyper:

I made a step by step instruction sheet if anyone orders a Haz and needs it let me know.

Don't get a EMG BQC System, that includes a vol and blend pot which you don't want that if you have the TW pickups. (you will loose the push/pull option.)

a TW with a BQC would have an amazing range of tones

So far, really liking my Legend Custom 5. The neck is bit flatter in the back than the Rebop 5 I had. It needs a little bit of an action adjustment, but other than that - it's a really, really nice bass. It's sounds a bit more aggressive than my Rebop 4 - I'm still not sure what the 3 band EQ is. I'm going to guess it's EMG?

This reminds me of the first Spector I ever saw up-close back in about 1989ish. A white NS2 turned up one day with a friend of mine, though it's stay was short-lived. It was stolen, and the cops came by the next day to collect it back after arresting the guy my friend bought it from. I never played it (fancied myself a guitarist back then) but I do remember vividly the brilliance of the white color and the smooth curves.

I reckon that'll be the best $500 you've ever spent.

Well my band Parallel 45 had practice this afternoon...the Krate 215 I plug into that I normally absolutely despise sounded pretty decent with the rounds on my Forte 5! Huh! Go figure! :bassist::D more clear and full sounding.
I even had to turn my bass volume to half until...the guitard started wailing! Then it was full vol and cranked the amp from 9 to 12:00!!!

Hello, it's been a while. Just wanted to tell you something. I saw Nickelback in concert last week, and Mike was playing an unusual Spector. It was 5'er with a P p'up, and it sounded sick! I called PJ @ Spector, and he told me that it was a passive P set up and that it was a custom one. Again, it sounded amazing.

You can swap your DC's for a p/j in the same case. Emg makes 34 p/j (4 string) and 40 p/j(5 string ) pickups. :). They are active though. They might have a passive setup but never seen them.

:bassist:One of you guys posted a short little video of your three finger picking technique several weeks ago. Whoever that was who posted it.... Thank you! I've spent about 5 minutes a day since then just practicing straight notes and galloping and it was bordering on embarrassing at first. But tonight it just clicked. I was actually just playing with three fingers and it sounded good. :bassist:

Yup, that was seventhframe. I can't thank him enough since, like you, i have practiced it regularly and it really has improved my playing.

I saw an interview with mike, he runs 100% passive spectors. I was listening to their most recent radio single and I was really digging his tone.

I guess he also goes direct into the FOH also.....
