Couple of Spector Legend scores with the bubinga tops? Nice!
So far, really liking my Legend Custom 5. The neck is bit flatter in the back than the Rebop 5 I had. It needs a little bit of an action adjustment, but other than that - it's a really, really nice bass. It's sounds a bit more aggressive than my Rebop 4 - I'm still not sure what the 3 band EQ is. I'm going to guess it's EMG?

I'd probably do the same if I had more than one!
I've got a Jetglo 4003 just like at the far right of the picture & that top edge kills my forearm: The NS shape is a world away from that.
I'd keep those two on the couch & maybe the Fireglo: Those Ricks without binding feel nice.
This reminds me of the first Spector I ever saw up-close back in about 1989ish. A white NS2 turned up one day with a friend of mine, though it's stay was short-lived. It was stolen, and the cops came by the next day to collect it back after arresting the guy my friend bought it from. I never played it (fancied myself a guitarist back then) but I do remember vividly the brilliance of the white color and the smooth curves.
I reckon that'll be the best $500 you've ever spent.
Does anyone have a Rebop AND a fully-carved NS-body bass as well? I'd like to see a comparison shot of the curve of the body.
I own an NS20004 and 5, as well as a Euro 4LX and love the fully contoured body, but I have heard the Rebop's bodies are flatter.
So if anyone has a 4-string Rebop and can get a pic (or 2 separate) comparing the curve of the body (both the roundedness of the edges and the contour of the body) to a normal fully-contoured NS bass that would be super helpful!
They seem great for the price, but if the comfort of playing isn't there I dunno if I want to spend the $$$. Thanks!

Edit: ok, nvm you're right! I was looking at the used black matte NS-5XL instead. New they're listed at $2775, and with how much biz I've given them in the past, I could prolly get 'em down a bit!
Maybe I'll just forego that Euro 5 option after all......

Does it have to be a 4 string Rebop? I have a 5 string Rebop and a Euro 5LX and can take pictures if you would like. Just tell me what specific angles you might want and I can get them for you.
I decided to take 2 quick pictures with my iPad showing my Rebop 5 and Euro 5LX side by side so hopefully this helps you out. The Rebop 5 is the natural finish and the Euro 5LX is the blue stain in case you need to know. I hope these help.

Oh, don't get me started about that used black matte NS-5XL. I have been looking at that thing for a long time now and let's just say the price has "changed" a bit and leave it there.
That's the ultimate decision with Spector's when you get into that price range between 2 and 3 grand. There are so many options that it makes the decision tough so i guess it comes down to what you want. My opinion is you can't beat the Forte's for that price range but it might be different for someone else who likes the crown inlays.

Oh really? That is a lil high for that bass, but I think I get what you're inferring...
No doubt man! Just look at the classifieds here and other places and what kinda deals you can get on the NS-5XL's! It's crazy. However, I think w/ the Forte it's not as showy, and I'd probably think that the upgrade to the USA 9V circuit in a 5 string would just be sick. I already have the 18V in "that" bass, so while I am looking for something else to be my #1 player, I do miss that "grunt" from the 9V like I had in my Brooklyn.
In all honesty even if I got a 5XL, I'd want it in a similar color scheme as the Forte as is!
Spector dudes, there's a wicked 8 ball Spector on eBay y'all should check it out. Never seen one like that. Must be a custom paint job
