Well, here she is - finally! My new Royal Blue USA NS4.
What a machine! Plays like buttah, and sounds incredible through my SWR Baby Blue. I won't be able to hear the full sonic fury until Wednesday when I can play it at rehearsal through my Phil Jones rig, but so far it is everything I hoped for and more.

Thanks! the color scheme was not intentional, but you are right - it is very "Apple Pie".
I bought the white Euro 5 years ago because it reminded me of Eddie Jackson's NS2.
I bought the plum Euro off of CL two weeks ago because the price was just too good to resist.
Last but not least, I bought the blue USA NS4 from Bass Central because Beaver Felton cut me an unbelievable deal vs. ordering a customized NS2.
I love the coloring of the pau ferro board on that NS-4. Mine is much like that in it's very chocolately!!

Does anyone have a Rebop AND a fully-carved NS-body bass as well? I'd like to see a comparison shot of the curve of the body.
I own an NS20004 and 5, as well as a Euro 4LX and love the fully contoured body, but I have heard the Rebop's bodies are flatter.
So if anyone has a 4-string Rebop and can get a pic (or 2 separate) comparing the curve of the body (both the roundedness of the edges and the contour of the body) to a normal fully-contoured NS bass that would be super helpful!
They seem great for the price, but if the comfort of playing isn't there I dunno if I want to spend the $$$. Thanks!

Rebop's have the same curved bodies and rounded horns as the Euro neck-thru models.
The Legend series and the USA Bolt-on series are the models that don't have the same rounded horns and appear flatter.
Ahh, you are the lucky person who scored that from ebay.
As John mentioned, if there is no ser# on back of the headstock, look under the trussrod cover and under the control cavity. The ser# should be written in those places.
Let us know the number we can give you an idea if it is a Kramer era or Brooklyn era NS-2. Then you can email PJ at Spector and he can give you the born date.
Thank you for the info. At first I did not notice the serial number on the back of the headstock because it was blending in with the white finish. The numbers are 887 and the hard case says Kramer/Spector.

I wonder whatever happened to the MM-pickup Rebop JPS said he was designing...I GASed for that thing so bad!!!! (or SAS I suppose)
The MM-pickup Rebop was an idea. Not sure if it was accepted.
But you could custom order a NS-4H USA model with MM-pickup.

It's just because it's in sequential order.
They restarted the serial numbers with NB in front of 4 digits (NB0001) in 2001.
Once they reach the 10,000th Czech bass a year or so ago, they had no choice but to go with 5 digits (NB10000).
They are simply sequential. No other indication code.
Yeah I had looked at that one... It is just too flashy for me, something about the style is a bit outrageous
in my opinion, no offense to anyone etc etc...
It has some mojo but it plays and sounds great! The battery was not connected to the haz lab preamp so that may have been what the seller was describing as volume fluctuations. I noticed somebody had #880 for sale a few years back and it had a Badass bridge. They must have made the switch between 880 and 887.
