All right, I spent time playing, notice time working on my basses, anyone know about how far away the pickups should be away from the strings ony NS-4? They are the p and j pickups in the Humbucker casings.

Pretty good Spector day for me.

I got my 35P and 35J and put them into my NS-4 (2 1/2 minutes flat, thanks Sam!)
and now I am really digging the sound of my NS-4....

Put down a deposit and ordered my new NS-2...

Told my wife about the new NS-2 and am still married with all my wedding tackle still attached. (Actually she is so cool about anything like that, it was not a big deal at all, she was happy for me...)

Now the wait....

Here's my 1994 NS-4 #110. This one has a bunch of player wear and finish checking but is still a beauty.

I hesitate to grab my still pristine Forte-4 for fear of creating the first flaw... but reach freely for this one.

This is a really great bass.

Anyone have SS frets in their Spector? I really like roto 66's, but their hell on the frets. Thinking about sending dougie out to go under the knife .........still unsure though.

"Just saying"... One could have the Blood drip bass for like playing a gig and use another in their arsenal for playing Beethoven with the symphony.

That's a given and was never a non-obvious point of discussion.

I just bought a Spector Euro4LX {poplar burl} last week and love it. Last night was the first night playing a full gig with it. Great tone and I really like how light it is.

I play D'Addario stainless strings, and they are fret eaters too, but I'm not about to give up that sound - I've spent too damn long perfecting it. When the frets finally go bye-bye on any of my Spectors, I'll be shooting you a PM to see how your re-fret job went & what I can expect to pay...

Agreed! Lol They do a full refret here with SS frets setup etc. For 275$.

No new pics, but here's one of the brothers (NS2004 & NS20005 made within months of each other) that I might not have posted before.

Both with inlays from creative cuts, funny that the 5 looks smaller, when it is actually a 35" scale
