I just bought a Spector Euro4LX {poplar burl} last week and love it. Last night was the first night playing a full gig with it. Great tone and I really like how light it is.

Welcome to a new world! Given your screen name, I'd say Spector is making quite an impression among musicians!

Here's my 1994 NS-4 #110. This one has a bunch of player wear and finish checking but is still a beauty.

I hesitate to grab my still pristine Forte-4 for fear of creating the first flaw... but reach freely for this one.

This is a really great bass.

Anyone have SS frets in their Spector? I really like roto 66's, but their hell on the frets. Thinking about sending dougie out to go under the knife .........still unsure though.

That give Dougie a bit different tone would it not?brighter?

I thought they might, but the SS fretted basses I have played weren't really noticeably brighter. The frets have a little ping to them, but its not a bad thing.

Any of you experts know what this serial number means? I thought NS basses came out in 1977 but it looks like the last 2 digits are 76?

In the meantime, I was playing around with my new to me Mesa 400+ and my Hazlab'ed - white EuroLX and recorded a little ditty. I was happy with the bass tone. Let me know what y'all think.

2006'ish EuroLX with Hazlab US9V, Old DR Hi-Beams, into a Mesa bass 400+ into an Aguilar GS212 miked with an SM57.
