It is plain and it's kind of cool that you could put any color in the world you want on it without sacrificing anything in terms of presentable grain, but it's neat to see such a plain Spector. We almost never see them this bare. All that tone from such simple woods. Anyone get what I'm saying? It's just kinda cool.

And if it were me, I'd go balls-out and do silver flake. Total stage owning, show stopping big flake silver.

I finally got around to taking a few pics of the Rebop. I am currently scraping together some scratch to get a pair of DC40s for it, but I have the BQC already installed. Somewhere down the road I will attempt a refin. The woodgrain is painfully dull, like an unpainted 2x4 with no quilt or flame pattern at all.

And now they have the B2000 too. 2050 watts into a 2 ohm load and stable! Can you imagine the absolute wall of cabinets this thing could throw down with? Amazing stuff. It doesn't have the eq'ing flexibility or stereo/bi-amping capabilities of the B1500, but it's still a hell of a head if you're looking for just straight, transparent, and reliable power. I wonder why Carvin is so underrated? I'm glad you are enjoying yours - they're easily the most overlooked music equipment manufacturer in the US.

The carvin B1500 might be the greatest lead sled ever made. It is my go to head when I need that 1250 watts at 4 ohms power. Pound for pound it's is loud and clean and can power quite a few big cabs. It is 2ohm stable throwing a whopping.1900 watts at a 2 ohm load! I also had fun with the little carvin bx500. I still use my Thunderfunk 550b for bar gigs but the carvin is a tank.

Story.....when I first got it, I did not rack it.....it vibrated off my berg 215 and did a header on the floor....still kept working and now problems ever. When I was in my big band playing big stages I had three of these monsters. I still own 2. They don't see much action lately but they are incredible.....off my soapbox now....call Carvin, ask for Keith, tell him Jamie and Derek from Faultline sent you!

I use a Carvin HD1500 power amp with my GK 2001RBP. Power for days in a 20lb 3 space rack. Carvin has always been good to me.:D

Yep. That and the TNTs. :D I had my share of both of those. All I wanted was a TNT with a 15" black widow in it.:rolleyes: Damn those things were so, so, so, so heavy. And loud for days. Oh and I loved the "punch" and "bright" switches too. :hiding: If I tried to lift one of those now, my spine would shoot out of my mouth, I'm pretty sure. I had a TKO 80 and a TNT 150 until I was 23 and then finally graduated to a head/cab rig. But TKOs and TNTs ran my world. And destroyed my vertebrae :rollno:

My only issue with the b2000 verses the first b1500 was the power amp......D class just did not cut it to my ears....the A/B power amp section of the B1500 had more testicular fortitude to my ears.....I tried a b2000 against the b1500

I went ahead and decided to strip out the Aggie from my Forte 5 and put in my preferred BTC/EXB combination. The Aggie is just a little too smooth for me and I want some of the growl that comes from my "smadder setup." That means I have a brand new Aguilar OBP-2 completely pre-wired with pots and knobs, including the battery clip. I'll throw in an extra battery clip for anyone wanting to run at 18v and of course, I'll cover USA shipping via Priority Mail for free.

Like my previous stuff, I wanted to offer this up to my Spector family before putting it on the block in the TB classifieds.

These sell new from Best Bass Gear for $187 as pre-wired rigs just like this (and that's without knobs) and for $129 just for the pre-amp by itself. So I'm going to ask for $100 shipped USPS Priority Mail with tracking number and I'll include an extra battery clip and battery upon request. Please PM me to call dibs. When you do, please send me your PayPal account name so I can send you an invoice. I like to make sure there's a record of everything from start to finish, even though it's a small thing. As you can tell from my feedback, I take very good care of my buyers. Once we get rolling, I'll send you all of my contact info and I'll ship the day after I receive your payment (sometimes I can even ship on the same day, just depends on the timing).

I never got to try them back to back like that, but I can see where the power amp topology would make a difference. Especially in the "grunt" at higher volumes.

I tried the BX500 too and was blown away. Once I got past the "how the hell did they fit all of this into something this small and light" phase and really listened to it, I liked it a whole lot more. It's such an incredible tool and every feature works the way it's supposed too. When I think of a "workingman's bass amp" I think of the BX500. Again, like I said before: if the Genz Benz ever has to go, I'll have a BX500 and a BRX 2x10. Man I wish I was endorsed :bawl:
