ok wiring experts...... I plugged in my rex to prep for the show tonight and I'm getting a real bad distortion when i play the low notes. active PJs and tonepump. I've rolled back the TP to just about off and the same results. Any suggestions?

The Rex will be staying home tonight :bawl:

I never got to try them back to back like that, but I can see where the power amp topology would make a difference. Especially in the "grunt" at higher volumes.

I tried the BX500 too and was blown away. Once I got past the "how the hell did they fit all of this into something this small and light" phase and really listened to it, I liked it a whole lot more. It's such an incredible tool and every feature works the way it's supposed too. When I think of a "workingman's bass amp" I think of the BX500. Again, like I said before: if the Genz Benz ever has to go, I'll have a BX500 and a BRX 2x10. Man I wish I was endorsed :bawl:

In my previous band my guitarist and I tried for endorsement..it seems you have to have significant tour itinerary and be going cross country or have a massive following on a coast. I love their products, especially the PA gear, and Keith on the phone has always taken care of us

I shouldn't be posting this seeing as I've got my own basses to sell, but this seems like a good deal if you're into the holoflash thing. But I think Donny is the resident Rexpert, so what do you think Donny?

It is plain and it's kind of cool that you could put any color in the world you want on it without sacrificing anything in terms of presentable grain, but it's neat to see such a plain Spector. We almost never see them this bare. All that tone from such simple woods. Anyone get what I'm saying? It's just kinda cool.

And if it were me, I'd go balls-out and do silver flake. Total stage owning, show stopping big flake silver.

I agree about the wood. Sometimes simple looks pretty cool. And I almost snorted my drink out reading the stuff about silver flake. 'Total stage owning, show stopping big flake silver.' :D

low battery?

+10 on the low battery thoughts on the Rex
hmmm... didn't try that. If its a ow battery then I have some wiring issues, since its a new battery.

$600.... Well normally the 4 strings go for around $450... plus you would give it the "smadder treatment" it seems a little high IMHO They sure do play amazing... I can't wait to get mine back gigging.
Is this the 449 deal....I entertained that thought...lol

I almost jumped on the $449 one too and I don't even play 5 strings.. lol

Guys, please try to limit the off-topic chat in here...and please be respectful in posts and PMs. If something is objectionable, just report it. This club thread is requiring much more of my time moderating than any other thread in Basses. I'm not singling out any one member; there are multiple posters I'm talking about.

If you have no idea what I'm talking about, that's fine too. :) Thanks.

They also have this holoflash Legend 4 as well. I've never seen one with a chrome bridge? Is this legit? I've only seen those on the older Perfomer series.

That's a holoflash older Performer. Not a Legend.
(Its always good to check in here or with one of us in PM since its typical for GC to mis-label models)
