IMO some of the old oddball G****n models were awesome, but they haven't made anything worth playing in decades.

Also I could be wrong and its just some odd set-neck bass with a really tall headstock...

Yeah just put tape on em. They are wiring the 2 coils (+ of coil 1 and - of coil 2) in series making the hum bucker. Red is hot. Green and bare go to ground.

In checking Guitar Center's used gear listings, it looks like they are finally realizing that used ReBop4 basses aren't selling at $900+ prices. They dropped the price on 2 of the 3 ReBop4 basses listed.

That's insane. I bought my Rebop5 from GC in San Marcos for a steal at just under $600 shipped to my door (shipping was $13, even from SoCal to Detroit!)

I would have loved to buy one from a club member, but with three kids I don't have the cash.

So...I tried the EB Cobalt Strings - only, as I was putting the strings on - the A string was dead out of the package. I've had the worst luck with EB strings. Screw it, going to try the DM Helix strings.

Over the years, I've found these to be my faves - DM Blue Steels, Rotosound Funk, DR High Beams - and currently Elixirs.

Anyway - after I put the Elixirs on my Forte, I was just going to tune up and test a few riffs and scales - which turned into 3 hours. Man, I love that bass. I turned the blend to the bridge pickup - turned the OBP-2 treble all the way up, with a slight boost of bass - then I used my 'finger style' setting on my RH-450 and rocked to 'Roundabout'. Didn't use a pick, but the EMGs and Spector growl was present, with the RH450's Tube emulator I got this overdriven mid-range punchy Chris Squire tone using my fingers - no pick.

Ok , a few weeks back I installed a EMG bt in my euro . Last night batteries are dead . So I thought I had it wired wrong . But when I change wiring around , I either get no sound , or weak distortion . Back the way I had it and it's good again . So , do yal think it's the jack that has shorted ???

That may be the culprit Jarrod. If you could post a few pics of the inside of your cavity I'm it would help.
