SPECTOR® Club - Part 36

Well I can't quote the post since the thread is now closed, but Lima said

"If that throws you move onto the fretboard.
Look for Rosewood (Euros) vs. Pau Ferro (USA's)"

To sound like an idiot: how do you tell the difference between those two? I thought they were pretty similar, is pau ferro just slightly more of a reddish color or is there a distinct difference?

Rosewood has more pores then Pau Ferro.

Its wood so it varies but usually Pau Ferro appears lighter IMHO

Here is an example which should compare it fairly well.

Beautiful shots seventh!
Just a reminder, as I haven't mentioned this up in a while.
And we do have a lot of newer members.

Don't forget to film a "My Spector Story" so JPS" can include you on the SpectorCentral website.

Even if you just have a web cam, pocket cam, that's fine.
Just press record and start talking about why you love Spectors so much, trust me it will come natural. :bassist:

If anyone needs any help with the editing let me know and I can do it for you, just send me the raw video files.

P.S.
Ice,
we should be expecting a Part 2 once your Coda arrives. :bassist:
Worship,
you are due any day now for Part 2
(Lets see some live footage and studio footage) :bassist:

The following people are way over due for a My Spector Story.

That's right I called you all out. :ninja: :bassist:
If I missed anyone, you know who you are.
Yeah, I'll be down for a part 2 by then! I'll work on some recent video footages of my 2 bands also to add in it.
I just picked up a gk 1001rbii haven't run it through the fridge yet, but my 700rb was awesome. I think the gk heads and smorgasbord cabs are a great match. And way cheaper than a 4 pro

Guess I need to start working on that... still need to get some Rex footage.

A buddy of mine is bringing over a GK-1001 rbii Monday, to plug into my fridge. I'm excited to hear it! I don't think I can afford a 4 Pro right now. :ninja: Also looking at a Calvin 1500.

Lee,
You have used this exact one?

I was thinking of getting it to dye my NS-2A fretless board.

You can buy this exact brand at a leather working supplies store, too. My brother used it to even out and ebony fretboard and to blacken two different ash Warmoth bodies. He loves the stuff:bassist:

Ubnomar - I finally got to use the white NS-2A at rehearsal today. It just kicked when we were doing Zeppelin's 'Ramble On'. I kept the light strings that you put on them - I didn't think the strings would have the ballzzz - but hey, it was awesome!

Okay, family pic. I might be selling the Legend Custom 5. More on that later...

In for Life. I am Gas free. SAS is just a way of life now ;^)

You say you are GAS free but that might not be the case. Whatever you do, don't talk to Limayguy :)

just pulled the trigger on a spector euro 6lx
i am sure i am in good company:bassist:

Excellent! Let's see pictures of that beauty. PM Tracebassplayer also once you have posted pictures and he will give you a Spector Club number.

 What does it weigh?

SAS....must resist SAS....

I don't have the best of scales but it looks to be between 8 and 9 pounds. It's not as light as my Rebop 5 but since this one is maple, I think that is why.

I'm so jealous... It's a beautiful bass. ;)
Congrats!

Thanks man :) I am still messing around with it and getting used to it since this is the first Spector I have with an OBP-1 in it.

Let me know what you think of the OBP-1. I have an eye on something that has an OBP-1, but not sure what it sounds like.

Good to hear... those super light Rotos are a lot of fun to rock!

I used to dislike Roto 66s and now I'm having a blast with them on a few different basses:bassist:

It's funny... every time I see a pic of your ReBop 4DLX it reminds me that I actually miss the one I sold. I really, really, really like my old NS-4 but I'm definitely keeping my eyes open for another ReBop 4.

How does the NS2A sound compared to your Legend 5? I have a Legend 5 with a MM haz copy and I'm really starting to jones for a NS2A. I need a 4 banger that is close in sound to my Legend.
