I bought this Rebop today and it should be here in a few days, until then I only have these poor quality pictures.
This bass is unusual to me because the back is figured, it is a later model with the trans black Zebra front but I have never seen one with a figured back. Whats up with that? Anyone know?

Very cool! Did you get that one from Guitar Center used? I know they had one just like that used at a pretty good price but yes, it's zebra wood with a black finish that I think looks really cool. You will sometimes hear them referred to as a Zebop as well.

OK, here is my 1988 NS-2A
and here is the pre amp../..so what is it....LOL

Very nice! Looks like a Korean Haz copy to me but I am not as good with the pre's as the other guys are. How does the bass play and sound?

armybass......if you got that locally I might know from who but his name escapes me.....I think I met him at guitar center one day....nice find in the tri cities area!

Bobby. He and I do lots of deals. He gets all kinds of killer used stuff and sells to GC and SA.

Congratulations Armybass! Once you throw some regular or x series EMG pj pickups in there to replace the stock Spectors (and you are really gonna want to do this ASAP) you will be blown away by how great the bass sounds. You got a great instrument at a great price/overall deal. :bassist: Welcome to the family! :hyper: I went through an extensive NS-2A restoration recently, so if there's anything I can do to help (finding inexpensive parts, upgrading/modding, etc.) please let me know. I'd be happy to help out!

First and most importantly (IMHO).....the links are live from grendle's last show. Awesome show grendle, as always! You can find them at my YouTube channel (

Grendle
Great tone and playing and the Green Wimbish looks better then ever :bassist:

Tat
Great Job on the video.
This is like the opposite of a Judas Priest video clip, you see the bassist in 95% of the video :bassist: instead of 5%. :hiding:

KEWL, what a great group this is.... and trust me.... I get it now. I put some new strings on that baby last night and was thumping through my 810 rig. SOunded amazing. Being 42 and coming up in the 70's and 80's....that Spector tone is the perfect "tone in my head" bass tone. Cant wait to gig it.
