Yeah, I hope so also. Man, do you hear his tone on this? This reminds me exactly of the tone from "I'm Broken" by Pantera that they have the isolated bass track of on Youtube.

Wow, I go on a trip for a week and a half and we're through another thread and a new model has been announced, this club moves fast!
I got to play a Euro 4LX at the Hollywood Guitar Center, which was my first experience with a Euro. The neck felt great, the action was nice and low, and it sounded incredible. I wish I could have spent a bit more time with it.
A quick question: How low do you all get the action on your Spectors? My Rex5 is about 4mm at the 12th fret and I like that height playing fingerstyle, but tapping can be difficult, especially at the highest frets. I think I may need to tighten the truss rod slightly, but I'm not entirely sure. What action height does everyone else for their Spectors?

I had been patting myself on the back for having no GAS until I saw that Rebop MM. I'm gonna have to get a five string!

Sounds great, man is the action low. I'll let everything settle in (it went cross country) before I change out the strings and do a quick set-up if needed. This bass just feels awesome. A little fret noise, but that will be gone after tomorrow. Pic's later.
From my experience, the necks on NS2As move around a little, probably because they are so thin. If something like temperature, string gauge or tuning changes, the neck takes a few hours to "settle in".
When I got my first NS2a, it was shipped detuned. I tuned it up and it was buzzy, a few hours later, no buzz. Same type thing when I change to a thicker string gauge. It took the neck a couple of hours to do what it was gonna do.

I'd been talking to PJ about a white rebop with MM and J, but wow, this is just AWESOME!!! Love the maple fretboard!
That's kind of what I thought. Thanks for the heads up. The action is a lot lower than I'm used to. I think I'm also going to have to work on a lighter touch.
I love the yellowish of the maple board, vs. the white on BEM. It just goes better with the black hardware and matte blue.

Forget the red sparkle, my next project might just be to refinish my plum CRFM4 in pink or purple sparkle!

If you do a little back research you will find that Marty Bell is the source for many OEM Sparkle finishes for both the major players and boutique builders.
I'm planning to have one of my basses refin'd by Marty in the near future... just need to settle on a color. Right now I'm partial to some of the "Pearl" offerings.
Good point, in fact that black Stingray (mint all original 1978 preEB Stingray with highly figured neck) in my pic probably costs more than the Spector Rebob MM. But I was just commenting on looks alone. That Spector is sweet, imagine it with a roasted maple neck....mmmmm.
Any idea what the street price will be on the new Rebop? Man, it'd be super cool if that bass evolved into what a single H Sterling can do. Single coil, series or parallel.

My Rex was setup at hanser then shipped to me. I restrung and detuned. Made a few slight adjustments and it was good to go. The action is pretty low. But not Lima low.

I've seen a Spector with a roasted maple neck, and it ain't pretty...
