For the sound in my head that I want, the neck-throughs really nail it and the bolt-ons don't, with the exception for the JARs for some reason (that I'm sure someone can explain to me). I'm sure it's a design/feel thing. I wish they did because the re-bops look amazing and are a hell of a lot more affordable.

But without question, that's a really spectacular Spector.

The rebops are probably some of the best bolt on's I have played but they just don't do it for me tone wise. The JAR seems to be a different animal though.

I sold the first one because I bought the euro5 and then later traded the euro.
I missed the Rebop so I bought another one, the only thing I plan on doing to this one is to merge the volume pots and install a pan pot, the rebop should be here tomorrow.
I go through spells of trading and selling until I find something I really like.

Cool. Post some of your good pics of that figured back. I have a black Zebop, but it has the standard alder back.

I know. :( but at that time I didn't have a CRFM yet. I could of bought that neck and that zebra wood Rebop that had a neck problem. It would have worked out! ;)

I was absolutely floored by how my bass cut through everything with such precision! Every note was articulated to it's fullest. It is indeed an incredible pre-amp coupled with an incredibly crafted bass!!
All that through an Ampeg rig, the divine tone of the universe, it recreates the Schumann Cavity!

Anybody who has had these two basses care to comment on the sound and playabilty between the two. I'm still looking for the right NS2A but sometimes wonder if I would be better off saving towards the Euro? (this would take quite a while since I just started a new job at a pay cut) The only Spector I have played so far is my Legend 5. I'm thinking since I have enough now for a NS2A to go that route, upgrade over time, then get a Euro down the road. Any advice from you guys who've had both?

Playability wise plus affordability, I've owned both, 87 NS-2A & Ian Hill Sig Euro, ReBop, you won't go wrong with the NS-2A. It's crazy fast neck, super low string action, awesome tone from the Haz copy, I bought mine from GC @$289.00 in great condition. I would've upgraded the pickups if I kept it but I was eyeballing a ReBop. Like LimaGuy stated you'll not lose your money on a NS-2A. It'll definately fill your Spector itch.

See, for me, I liked my legend 4 better than the ReBop 5 DLX that I had. But I'm definately a neckthru person. I'm crossing my fingers on my new Coda 5 Deluxe. I'm expecting great things! :bassist:

This subject had been brought up in the past, and yes you can order a neck from Spector. I forget off hand how much it cost though. Wasn't bad though. Last year there was a club member that was selling ReBop with an spare neck.
