I bought this fretless Dean while waiting for the right fretless Spector a few days ago and I was impressed so I thought I would share my experience with this bass.
First thing I noticed how similar the neck was to my Rebop and then discovered here on TB that it is made in the same Korean factory as the Legend, I also noticed how well it is made for it's price point so I decided to just keep it.
I epoxied the neck with a quality two part epoxy because I run round wound strings on everything and rounds eat up Rosewood.
So I thought I would tell you guys about this in case you may be looking for a inexpensive way to fretless.
I paid 200 for it used (not a mark on it) and I think they go for about 500 new?
It's a 35" scale, 5 piece neck with real Gotoh tuners and Dean electronics, the pups sound like Hz's with a good sounding pre.
I have a spare Tone Pump to put in it but it sounds great like it is.

Got it yesterday and so far I'm very happy with it! The eye poplar top is amazing!
I'm very happy with both of your rigs!!!! Esp that rare Aggie preamp. And is that a first edition England made Ashdown ABM?

Is there ANYTHING wrong with that bass?? Anything that makes it "used" besides age? Because from the photos it looks like it just came out of the box... really beautiful.

It'a an early EVO II, so it could still be made in England, but I'm not 100% sure. But officially I bought it as "made in England"... The craziest thing is that this is my main amp and I prefer it over my Aggies and the M6...
I had one as well, way back in 1999-2000. Mine was the original blue rack mount. I don't blame you for preferring it over the rest. That's the loudest 575 watts I've ever heard in my life. I wish I hadn't sold it off. I also wish they had caught on more here in the states so that they hadn't gone the Chinese manufacturing route. The quality took a huge nose dive after that happened. If I were you, I'd never let that thing out of your sight! It's an incredible amplifier and still has one of the most ingenious EQ approaches that I've ever seen or experienced. I ran mine through a Bag End Q10BX-D and while it was the heaviest 4x10 rig on the planet (the cab alone was 93 pounds), it also was as smooth as butter at stage volume with no break-up and no strain. It was surreal. I'd hit an open note and feel the air pushing me forward from behind. Most of the sound checks would go something like this:
"Can you turn that down?"
"What?"
"Can you please turn that down?"
"What? I can't hear you."
"Would you turn down? You're bleeding into everything!"
"What?"
Good times.

Hey guys, have any of your used a Scotchbright pad or anything else (sandpaper/steel/brass wool) to knock off the gloss on the back of a Spector neck?
Looking to make it less sticky, but don't want to ruin it.

I used to do that on all my Fenders but they shine right back up again after a while. I decided to just sand it down a use a finishing oil on it.
Here is what it looked like on my Schecter from 1983;
"Slap everything on the de-tuned "B" string". I can just picture this.
