Maybe the NS-4 was just to "Polite" for me compaired to the NS-2, but I really dig them both. Like I said, if I could, I would have both.

Having said that, I love this new NS-2 so far, but I will say I am expecting my Woodstock NS-2 to be even better. :bassist::bassist:

I had my wife take apart my front strap where it attaches and lengthen more to where it fits, but, after wearing it a few gigs, I found my 3 1/2" leather strap more comfortable. So the comfort strap sits in my parts box. :hmm:

No kidding?!?! A couple years ago I bought a Trans Red NS-95 SSD New/OLD stock and it had the plastic on the tuners and electronic cavity cover. It was in the original shipping box but the strings were starting to rust. The guy I bought it from, bought it from an auction from a guitar store that went out of business. He said that it was sitting in the back stock room on a shelf. He had a black NS-95 also. Cool stuff and amazing where new/old stock is just sitting somewhere and then crops up. :cool:

I bought one for my NS-4 a few months ago, and I didn't care for it at first either, but after about 3 rehearsals I started liking it.
I now notice my shoulder feels better after rehearsals (my NS-4 is one heavy bass, almost a pound & a half more than my CRFM - go figure), and the strap seems to be very well built.
Give it a week more & see if it grows on you as well.

Good question. I always assumed Mr. Spector was still building even during the Kramer years. Waiting for JPS to chime in.

I do hope they work out for you. I'm currently using the 3" padded Levy's strap. I love them, but I have been gassing for the Spector straps since I first saw them. Mostly because I like how they look:hiding: Anyone else using the Spector comfort strap?

He very well may have been! From what I understand he was also there as a consult as well and urged Kramer to maintain the USA basses being built in the USA and not having parts outsourced like they did their guitars.

Someone pointed out the wood aspect, and I can kind of see that, but that doesn't hold a ton of water to me because Gibson's were still being built out of similar tone woods as they were when Mike was there. They just weren't "hand built" like when Mike owned Tobias (from what I understand).

I think a couple of members have summed it up. A lot of the big names were playing Spector's in the 80's and they looked bad @$$ and sounded bad @$$ and people wanted them. Many did not know about Stuart himself, but recognized them as a great bass, whereas with Tobias, people knew about the Man and when he stopped making them, the brand lost credibility.

Okay, weird problem, the new NS-2 sounds as awesome as can be, then this afternoon it starts fading out, then nothing, like the battery died. I pulled off the control cavity, remember I said the battery came loose? Turns out that the little post for the battery (negative post I think) broke off. I can't find it. If you look at the pictures, you can see the broken post.

Ideas how to fix it? I know I can get a 9 volt cap with wire leads and wire it, but would like to keep it as close to original looking as I can.

That particular part looks exactly the same now as it did back then. Perhaps PJ or Patrick could make a phone call and get you a new battery holder assembly.

There is a 'breaking' in period - I've had Comfort Strapps for a couple years now, and they actually feel better with heavier basses, like my Forte. My back and my shoulders thank Comfort Strapp.

Donny, you'll need an XXL for as low as you play the bass. Don't know if they make that size though. :hmm:

What I personaly like in Kramer NS-2 is slim neck and Haz. So, playability+Tone. Another "plus" is the wood of NS-2 which resonates defferently from my both Euros (which is understood because wood composition is different as well as USA bridge also counts in sustain) and to Forte-4 that I tried shortly. This is probably a result of wood ageing (my Ns-2 is 26 years old which is a year older than my wife:)), because when I play NS-2 unplugged I clearly hear every single note pitch as though it has an "acoustic" boby. All the above makes my preference lean towards Kramer NS-2.
