My midnight rant, I know the economy isn't great but I am being offered some insulting trades and two for one deals that blow my mind. If someone has something worth half of what you have why do they persist in offering an equal trade, between my Spectors I have for sale and my couple Warwicks I have been blown away at some offers I have received.....weird.

All I want to do is get a fair price for what I am selling.....just because I have it posted for sale doesn't mean I'm willing to sell it for half of the posted price or trade it for something only worth half. Most of my stuff is at 50% or less what it costs new? Someone explain this to me? No lol.....

Tell them what I tell them...I rather smash this bass (or whatever item) in the concrete than get ripped off by you...:bassist::bassist::bassist:...and I'm serious, haha

The White NS-2A will go soon for sure.

I know the feeling all to well myself. Gets really under your skin when people make crazy low ball offers.

Thank God they don't do it to your face...I had one idiot ride (2 hours) to my house and then say my tweeter was messed up when the thing was mint and then said he was going to knock $50 off the price...(seriously???)..I looked at him and said dude get out of my house and then he says ok I will pay the price...I still said firmly..Get Out Of My House!!!....screw the money, don't insult me.

It's the quick nickle slow dime thing. Right now it's pretty much a buyers market (for everything - my wife and I are looking at a house with twice the square footage that we have now for less than what we owe on our current home). Early this year I got a bass (a non-Spector to be honest) for about half of what I would have considered paying 5 years ago - not because I low-balled him, but because that's what he was offering it at. If I had the disposable income (and had I not just purchased a new preamp, 6 string bass project and parts for said project in the last 7 weeks) I would be contacting you to give you a realistic offer...sorry, who knew?

The prices you have are as awesome as the basses your selling. Put them on ebay, I did that with the Thumb and got a bid the same day. It ends tomorrow and have a ton of people watching it and a lot of questions answered. The NS2A on ebay went for 900 bucks the other day. The smadder one is a lot better than the one that sold. The custom $$ is one of a kind and the neck on the Streamer is sick. Just list it for the lowest price you'll let it go. If it doesn't sell you didn't lose anything. People seem to pay more when they are competing for something. I've even sold stuff for more than I bought it new. I see there is a few 400+'s for sale here on TB and 2 have sold for 900 and 980 the last few days on ebay.

So I'm a big fat liar.

A week or so ago I posted some notion about being happy with and enjoying what I have and not getting anything else for a while. Yeah right.

So this bad boy will be on its way to me sometime this week from bassgiant15:

It's his badass sounding Euro 435 with the 18v mod featured in many of his clips. Very excited to get this one. This is the finish I originally wanted when I wound up getting my faux-Forte 435. Good timing too since the band has decided to start doing some drop C# stuff in addition to our drop A and standard B stuff.

I SWEAR this is it for 2012!

Congrats! I have 435 with the same finish but with black hardware and it's a real bad ass! I've strung it both normal EADG and low BEAD and it sounds great with both tunings. The only thing to keep in mind is that you need tapered B and E strings to fit the bridge. I use Rotosound Drope Zone 65-130 Set, but I may try something else...Good choice!:bassist::bassist::bassist:

Great looking flame on that bad-ass black bass!

Congrats, and NEVER apologize for grabbing another Spector, especially one that's a great deal. I'd buy a dozen more if it weren't for mortgage payments...
And car payments...
And doctor bills...
And.. You get the picture... :D

Has anybody here played one of the Limited Edition walnut bodied/mop inlay/Badass bridge NS-2 reissues? The steep price & subdued look didn't do much for me at first, but the more I look at them, the more I find myself catching a bad case of "Old School" fever...

Thanks!

I've been using the Spector brand steels on my current 435 for BEAD which have exposed cores.

When I have the second 435 in hand, one is going to get setup for drop C and the other drop C#. Not sure which will be which yet.

I'm thinking I may finally try out Circle K for these basses since they have tapered ends on all of the heavy strings. Might also try a balanced 150 set for my black cherry Euro 5LX which could become a standard A bass. Decisions...

I came really close to plunking down a deposit on a custom NS-6XL but I really need to knock down some bills in the next year before I start investing that kind of scratch.

Problem now is I don't really have anything I consider expendable. The new 435 will put me at 6 Spectors, but all of them have a purpose. I could see maybe moving my 6LX to fund a deposit on a 6XL but then I'm without a 6-string Spector for 6-7 months and I could see needing one for recording during that time.

My two old Carvins aren't worth selling and have too much sentimental value anyway. I have my Carvin fretless 6 but it's my only fretless so again don't want to be without that.

That leaves my two SR5's. The single H has been with me for a decade and isn't going anywhere. That leaves a very pretty blue SR5 HH I got last year. Probably the best sounding non-Spector I have. And its build date was my birthday. I mean, you can see my dilemma right? :D

Save the cash for the deposit and sell the 6lx when its finished?
