Here is my minty Legend that I recently bought. It's actually Trans Blue and color can be seen clearly under good lighting.
As you can see, I listed most of the 5ers I've tried before landing on the Blue Legend. They were all unique in their own way. I've been a Millennium 4+ poster-boy for a long time, but the 5's are slightly different to play than the 4's. My first 5er was the White Euro Spector 5. What a great bass. I compared everything else to it.
Times are tough and I am tired of searching for my White Euro tone & feel without the $800-$1K to buy it. Besides, I can't afford it. Had to trade my Helms for the Lakie, then sold the Lakie for wife's medical bills.
I didn't like the feel of the neck on the Spector Legend MM/J nor the mid boost in the preamp.
When I saw my newest addition on eBay, I had to have it, price was low and very reasonable. Don't know how I won it for such a low price, but I did. Wow, took it to a show Sat night and was so pleased with it, I am now a Spector convert for sure. It's about 95% of what I got from the White Euro. This legend, the neck feels different and TonePump Jr sounds like an EMG pre. SSD's are like the HZ's that were in the Euro.
Well I don't know what Spector did for their 2010 Korean Legends, but it sure works for me. They say there's a Spector for everyone and I believe them. Why spend $1K on another Euro, when I got all I need here for less than $300? Great deal huh?
Been studying on my Hohner and peaveys for the past year to be affluent in 5ers and now I can't go back. Strings on 4's seem too wide apart! Lol. The Hog Hohner has extra-tight spacing and when I went to my new Legend 5, my playing was so much more accurate. Perfect fit, maybe .5-.9mm wider. What a difference.:D
So, I guess I'm blowing off some excitement about the beloved Spectors and wanted to share the experience. (May I have a Club# now?)

G.A.S. free but some Spector nut introduced me to S.A.S. Satisfied and content for now!

Welcome to the club hawk ! Sas is never ending .

My guess is that option would make it not a Forte and then would be a custom that looks like a Forte but costs a bunch more, I remember it was basically a NO OPTIONS model, only option being the preamp.
And how do you think I ended up with the OBP 3 preamp and 40P5/40J on my former Forte 5? It's not on the option list. PJ Rubal will consider other options and work with you. He's a very reasonable guy. The options listed are not inclusive.

You guys seen the Shell Pink Euro 4 on Ebay? Stunning.

Is that the "Mary Kay" Spector bass? :hiding:

The two Fortes I'd owned black bridges were "solid Brass" just like all the new USA bridges.
Hmmm...
Looks like you might have me on this one.

I was sure I either read, or it was discussed, that the black bridges weren't ever solid brass because of some issue of it being difficult to color/plate them black if brass.

If I ever find where that was said, I'll post it.

So....this Wednesday night I'm going to try out for another band. I got called to play with Plush-a stone temple pilots tribute band. Lee has seen them.....they are also expanding and doing choice covers, which I will get a part in picking. They called me, so I suppose I'm already in if I want. How does this relate?

I will FINALLY be able to give the Matte Black Euro LX 4 a good run! I will be taking it to the rehearsal to see what she can do! Color me super excited boys and girl (or two or three in the club). I'm sure it will roll through the songs effortlessly and with authority!
