SPECTOR® Club - Part 45

I've really been enjoying looking at everyone's Spector basses on here and I think I am ready to pull the trigger on a Euro4LX classic but I would like to order it with options: Black hardware, Spalted Maple top, natural oil finish and the Doug Wimbish neck. I wish that no inlays on the fretboard was an option like the Forte.
My question to you all is, what online dealer would you recommend ordering through? Also, what is the usual wait time when you place an order with options?

It may be challenging getting those options on a Euro, sounds more like you want a US model!!
Mr. Valenti puts together a fine bass and on the used market they are a steal. IMO, worth the coin.
Contact Hipshot and tell them you would like the tuning post extended for use on a Spector. It costs like $20 for the mod plus shipping, but worth it in IMO. Did it on a GB7 xtender and it worked great.
Like I said, they did it for nothing 10 years ago when I had this issue with the Cirrus/GB7.
If it's advertised as being for a Spector as a match for the Schallers there should be no extra charge involved.
Especially when there is nothing about this pointed out ahead of time.
I can live with it.
It's just a head scratcher as it seems to be a bad example of knowing your market.
I'm working right now and jumped the gun. I will say Slap Shot is one of the greatest. (Best hockey by far) Major League is also right up there. ML and Bull Durham are my two favorite baseball movies. My son and I watch Bull Duram at the start of every ball season to get in the swing of it.
He's a pitcher and I've called him meat since little league, he's in college now and I still yell it from the stands when I get to his games.....
Contact them. Let them know it is advertised as being for a Spector. Have them attempt to make it right. There is no reason you should have to live with it.

I didn't get it directly from Hipshot, but a dealer based on info from the Hipshot website.
The weird thing is, I had put at least two of these on Spectors years ago (Kramer NS2 and a NS5CRFM), prior to the Cirrus/GB7, and not experienced this issue.

Give Hipshot a call. I'm sure they will be able to help you. Don't rely on dealer based info.

I've two of Nino's basses so far:
I didn't dig the first one aesthetically because I didn't like the control plate or the EMG size Nordies. The bass played perfectly and had a HUGE sound though.
The second I sold because it didn't have a bridge pickup and it had an ash body. That bass had so much cut that it wasn't funny.
Nino's builds were as good as anything else I've played and better than most. You can tell a lot of time and energy goes into them and he cares about what he's doing. His wiring is down right amazing it's so tidy.
So...I got rid of both Valenti's because they weren't right for me but because his work is so stellar, I ordered one with my own specs.
Alder body (Candy Apple Red)
Maple Neck/Fingerboard (Dotless)
Stainless Frets
35 inch scale
19mm spacing
Hipshot Hardware (B Bridge/Clover tuners, All Chrome)
Nordstrand DC's (with Bart covers, I find them more appealing than the EMG size covers)

This should be THE bass for me as it's everything I wanted in a bass.
Lots of threads on his basses on TB.
He builds nice stuff for a lot less than Sadowsky NYC. They are really good values used.... Usually in the $1300-1600 range.
