So this little guy came in the mail yesterday... I must say it did not disappoint.

I knew I'd love the dirt side but the clean is quite awesome and impressed me as well.

Let us know if you get any clips on that, thinking of making it my next pedal purchase to replace my ancient Big Muff. How does it handle the hot output of the Spector?

Although I might wait a bit to get it as my other pedal needs are much cheaper and might do those first. (replacing an envelope filter with an actual wah dunlop 105q, replacing boss flanger with an MXR phaser)

Handles like a charm. The eq goes a long way and the dirt seems to love the higher input as I can have a wider range of distortion and grit.

Im running an 18v USA Pre in to it btw.

It can still do ZERO grit when the gain is turned down and the blend is up... At times other pedals broke up due to the input getting blasted.:bassist:

Omer, that's just insane! You, Lee, and Jamie have ridiculously amazing amplification options on hand and ready to go. Actually, Mike too. They're all awesome but its so overwhelming to see all this ear destroying, rib cracking, earth shaking riggage (new word - I call credit!). Any body else have a huge amp collection? Also, I'd love to know what you guys think of each amp with your Spector(s) and what your favorite combination of riggage out of everything you have to choose from?

I've just never owned multiple performance amps at once. Maybe a full rig and a little portable practice amp at most. The MB800 is perfect from my perspective because it can do a single small cab or a monster 412 or 410 and pull both off so great. It's particularly cool if I happen to play a joint that has a back line already; just pop the mb out of the gig bag pocket and plug the stack into it. My tone can go with me everywhere and the 800w rating is accurate and massive, but also cleans up nice at the lower volumes.

I don't have a huge amp collection - I simply have my small, medium and OMG riggage* (*Smadder.com copyright 2012, all rights reserved).

Small = SWR Baby Blue II. This little wonder doubles as my ABG rig, my home practice rig, and my Moog Taurus/synthesizer meduim gig rig. The Spectors sound great through it, especially the CRFM w/EMG pre.

Medium = SWR Headlite through a Sonic cab loaded with a single 15" EV driver. This rig doubles as my live Moog Taurus & Synthesizer amp. The spectors sound great through this one as well, especially the Euro w/non-trim TonePump pre.

OMG = Phil Jones M-500 head through Phil Jones 8-T and 16-B cabs. The Spectors sound effing amazing through this one, especially the USA NS-4 w/USA 18-v pre. The punch & low end of this amp blows away any other rig I've ever owned, including my old Ampeg, EBS, Fender, Peavey and Marshall stacks.

The pics below show all three rigs as used at medium & large gigs. The Phil Jones rig handles the bass duties, the SWR Headlite/Sonic rig handles the Moog Taurus, and the SWR Baby Blue II is used as a bass monitor for the drummer.

Omer, I still can't believe you have 2 svt 4 pros... I am a bit jealous. I just have the one rig (to get bigger next year) We have adopted the 80's mentality of Rock and Roll... It has to look cool.. LOL

:D Well, Lee is more of the master of Riggage.... I've only used a handfull of amps with my Spectors. I landed on the 4-pro because of the tone and power. I've also tried Ashdown, a GK and an SVT II pro.
I know that Lee still owns an impressive collection of amps that he uses. :bassist:

:D Well, these are 2 separate racks that hardly ever see each other. I brought my rack from my jam space home because I'm going to be away for a while and I didn't want to leave it there and so I thought it would look impressive to stack them up like that :D
But regardless, one by itself weighs a LOT! :smug:

Chris is correct, this is the Chilean flag which is VERY similar to the Texas state flag. :bassist:

:eek: Yeah. My eyes just got hernias. When I helped out at a shop a few years ago they carried the Phil Jones Stuff. I never thought anything would be heavier than Bag End's 4x10s... and then this box the side of a small house shows up one day and we had to open it in the street to get it inside. I forget what exact year it was but the PJB stuff had just come out big so that was the thing to stock and it was the biggest cab thy offered at the time... I forget how many 5s supes, you'd know better than me. But it hurt. A lot. What vehicle do you use to transport all of that for a gig? I'm picturing the suspension screaming "Oh no. He he comes. He's... he's bringing all of it.... dear God, why?! Why me?" :)

So I know it's totally not Spector related, but here's to Marcus Miller and his band getting healthy and back on the road. They're really lucky that there was only one fatality.

P.S. Wouldn't it be great if bassists got more press from positive stuff (Randy Jackson getting a lapband doesn't count)?
